The “Flying Swede” Breaks Pole Vault Record for the 14th Time

Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis flew over the bar at 6 metres and 30 centimetres [That’s 2/3rds of an inch over 20 feet] to break his own world pole vault record at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Monday 15 September.

With gold already secured, the flying Swede took three attempts to set the new world record, saving the best jump for last after just touching the bar on his previous two at the height. More

  1. Here is another American, born here, went to school here, trained here, and yet can’t bother with any gratitude, representing his mother country, but “fly’s” for Sweden.

    Eileen Gu, a skier, is another one; she wears the Chinese flag. What’s wrong with these people?

    You might want to ask the same question to the American football players that are now going to play Flag football in the Middle East, or are they just playing the Yacht card?

    The Olympic Games is a whole different matter as it’s not professional sports people but considered amateur, so theoretically there isn’t much if any monetary compensation.
