Russian Sub That’s Possibly Carrying Nukes at Risk of Blowing Up in the Med

UK Daily Mail

A Russian submarine capable of carrying nuclear missiles has declared an ‘explosion hazard’ alert after suffering a fuel leak in the Mediterranean.

The Black Sea Fleet submarine Novorossiysk is ‘experiencing serious technical problems’ and has now put out the urgent warning, Russian Telegram channel VChK-OGPU reported today…

…’Due to damage in the fuel system, fuel is leaking directly into the hold.

‘There are no spare parts for repairs or qualified specialists on the submarine, and the crew is unable to fix the malfunctions.

‘The serious accident has caused other problems as well. The accumulated fuel in the hold is an explosive hazard.

‘The source believes the crew has no choice but to start ‘pumping out the hold’ directly into the sea.’ More

  1. Having experience in submarines, it sounds to me like their diesel fuel is leaking.
if it’s a nuke boat the diesel is used for emergency electrical generation if the reactor is scrammed. But the Russians have a good number of diesel-electric boats in their fleet too. usually the fuel is carried in the ballast tanks outboard the pressure hull, so if the have a leak it’s in their supply piping lines.

  2. Anonymous,

S#!T from the 1960’s worked pretty good.
The real issue is that the whole world is running out of PEOPLE who can FIX, MAINTAIN, & DESIGN Durable things.

Shawn Ryan had a guest recently that claimed a $2,000 contractor part was keeping a huge nuber of American Field Howitzers unusable due to “Right to Repair” issues where he figured the US MILITARY could fix these things for a $2 part.

    It the people.
