When a lone cow gets caught out of the pasture she knows that the jig is up and is usually cooperative getting back in. That’s also true for small numbers of cows if the rest are still in the pasture. Bulls are another story.

worked on a dairy farm as a kid. the pasture fences are typically just one ot two strands of wire. cattle in distress or highly motivated can break through easily. cows are usually easy to drive back into a pasture. don’t try to do that with bulls. we had a special old pickup truck we used for herding them. every square inch was dented.
