4. For over four decades, my life has been fuller, richer, deeper because of the cats and dogs that have been members of my household. They aren’t ‘pets’, they have always been family. I only regret their lives are shorter than ours.

   Ditto for us. Especially since the nest is empty. But that’s ok too. The critters make it worth while coming home every night. The wifes been working on three feral kittens. At last report she was going down on the back forty, sitting in a chair and had them eating at her feet. Fast forward, they’re still spooky then hell, but they’re eating inside and have figured out the mutt is not a threat. To much fun.
