Should Arizona Punt on Jay Feely?

GP

Former NFL kicker Jay Feely is currently running for Congress in Arizona’s 5th Congressional District, selling himself as the MAGA Republican choice for voters, but many are starting to notice his history of attacking Trump and supporting Democrats like Hillary and Bill Clinton.

Feely is a 14-year NFL veteran who played kicker during a four-year stint with the Arizona Cardinals before ending his career with the Chicago Bears.

Now, he’s setting his sights on Rep. Andy Biggs’ seat amid the lawmaker’s plans to retire and run for Arizona Governor in 2026.

Feely is currently propping himself up on Fox News as the pro-Trump choice. But his record shows a stark contrast with his conveniently newfound message. More

  1. That asshole John Cornyn in TX is doing the same thing. He’s running on “helping Trump seal the border”. That worthless bastard didn’t do shit to seal the border. He’s a classic Bush republican, i.e. a stealth democrat.

  2. I agree with all the comments against him, but people can change.

Unfortunately, the only way their ‘change’ is proven is after they show their true colors once they are voted into Congess…

I do not trust people, but I have noticed once they see the light, they are solid. Unfortunately elected officials won’t show any possible light until they are elected…

  3. The guy is a chameleon, an opportunistic POS, who has never been a principled Constitutional conservative EVER. He isn’t now and he never will be anything other than what he has been all his life. How do I know that with 100% certitude? Because the lying sack of shit is demonstrably lying about having been what he is demonstrably has not been. He is sucker bait and as greasy as they come.

  4. Yes, people can change. But a seat in Congress is not the proper place for them to prove themselves. Maybe a school board. Or, just sit it out, do not run for any elected office. Instead, go do the ground work like Scott Pressler. Prove yourself on the street.

  5. “Feely is a 14-year NFL veteran,,,”

…maybe its just me, but I always hated how they would use the term “veteran” for, of all things, sportsball players. I know it is technically accurate but you rarely hear that in other occupations like “verteran cashier” or “verteran janitor”, and at the end of the day sportsball is just another job, and kind of a useless one at that.

It just seems to me like they are looking for a linguistic conflation with MILITARY veterans, who to me are the ONLY occupations that should be referenced that way. Sorry, but getting multimillion dollar contracts for playing a kids game with rules and pads and unions is NOT the same as having to breathe the literal shit you have to burn in some Godforsaken Islamic armpit or pitching about on an ocean for months at a time fending off missiles from same for low pay and the possiblity of a hellish death at every moment.

Atheletes DO work at their craft and DO have to make themselves physically exceptional, true, but at that level they are coddled and compensated and set for life even if they get a pulled hammy or turf toe and sit down for the season, where no soldier, sailor, Marine or airman ever is.

Just dont pretend those are the same thing, is all Im saying, not even by using the same terminology.

It just seems like a stolen valor sort of dick move, is all Im saying.

You kicked a ball once, great.

That doesnt mean anything about the job you want NOW, so quit trying to ride on it forever…

  6. Sports is the Toy Box of life. Some people make a good living with it, it’s fun to watch, it’s fun to play, but at the end of the day it’s just amusement. I’m over 70, but I don’t call myself a veteran of life.
