Meet George Jetson

Movie Guide

Though he announced he would likely retire from acting, Jim Carrey might now lead a live-action movie based on THE JETSONS, which would mark as his second project since intentionally slowing down his career.

“Well, I’m retiring,” Carrey said two years ago. “Yeah, probably. I’m being fairly serious. It depends. If the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see, I might continue down the road, but I’m taking a break.” More

  1. “and was an animated sitcom” We call it a cartoon. Hollywood is so full of itself. Carrey in it means I won’t go see it. I do wonder if Kathleen Kennedy is involved if he will be a “gay” George Jetson.

  2. I saw his early stand up comedy routine in the mid 1980s. He wasn’t the headliner… can’t remember who was. He kept on putting his arm up over his head like he dislocated his shoulder. It wasn’t even remotely funny. I was surprised when he started getting movie roles, because I thought he sucked as a comedian.

  3. Only if he plays that asshole Mr. Spacely. He’s too old to play George Jetson, unless they age everybody about twenty years. Which they’ll probably do, as well as make it a dark comedy with a trite political message. Whatever they do is going to suck.

  4. Carrey wasn’t funny prior to his great political reveal. Once he announced he hates America and is a -covert- communist I developed an intense revulsion reaction when his face appears. It’s like a cat coughing up a hairball, really inconveniencing and unpleasant.
