They Want to Ban Bacon

Daily Mail

Scientists are calling for a ban on supermarket bacon and ham after the chemicals used in their production were linked to more than 50,000 bowel cancer cases.

A coalition of leading scientists says the refusal to ban nitrites – preservatives used to keep processed meats pink and long-lasting – has come at a devastating human and financial cost, with the NHS footing an estimated £3 billion bill to treat preventable cancers over the past decade.

Their analysis, based on figures from Cancer Research UK and the British Journal of Cancer, estimates that around 5,400 bowel cancer cases each year in the UK are caused by eating processed meats. Treatment costs for each patient average £59,000. More

  1. If you want to ban nitrites then ban nitrites. Plenty of bacon available that doesn’t use them.
Oh, that wasn’t what you wanted???

  2. You’ll have to take my rasher from my cold dead hands.
They’re already starting to price it as a luxury item but I’m still finding chops, loins and shoulder roasts at a reasonable price.
Pretty sure it comes from the same animal.

  3. They seem more concerned about this than the fact that the entirety of the U.S. pork production also uses mRNA “vaccines”. It hasn’t been adopted in U.S. beef and poultry production yet, but they’re working on it.

  4. All UK immigration and asylum application papers need to be printed with oil-based inks. The oil being pig fat, of course. Same with driver licenses. Finally, UK passports need to be bound in pigskin.

  5. … and keep and mention of my delicious bacon out of your filthy mouths. I just put a couple three pounds in mt bean pot yesterday morning and the corn bread is about to come out of the oven.

  6. Sort of on topic, but nothing to do with muzzies.

Here is a link to a website where you can buy local meat and dairy direct from ranchers/farmers. They don’t use chemicals on their ranches/farms including pesticides, herbicides, and vaccines. If there are none near you, they do ship within their states. Some might have different shipping methods and products.

Find the one nearest you and try them. You will notice the quality of their products and never buy from a grocery store again.

  7. I’m too old and near the end of the trail to worry about what some hairy face goat fucker from the chicken shit UK has to say about what I should or should not eat!

As Dennis Miller used to say, “Of course that’s my opinion, I could be wrong.”

  8. I’ve heard of Canadian Bacon, but never British Bacon. now the best bacon is ‘Bacon Bacon’. and Kevin Bacon seems to hold some kind of record for being cast in many movies with many actors, or something like that, and I’m not sure who he’s hasn’t cast with, and I bet he likes bacon too, unless he’s a vegan or a vegetarian, but i bet he makes sure Kyra Sedgwick doesn’t push buttons near fire places at parties at other peoples houses anymore!

Bacon, it’s what’s for every meal!

  9. The number “50,000 bowel cancer cases” doesn’t mean much by itself. There’s nothing to compare it to.
50,000 vs total UK serf population?
    Over how many years?
    Percentage (0.0%)?

    It’s all scare tactics.
    Eat hearty, me heartys!

  10. Or, ORRRR, hear me out now, make bacon, but without nitrites to keep it pink? Because I don’t care what it looks like before I cook it to a nice crispy brown…
When I corn my brisket for St. Patricks day, I skip the nitrite additive, comes out just fine?
