  1. The unintended consequences would be show-stoppers if Fine’s bill weren’t an obvious feel-good gesture designed to go nowhere.

That’s not to say that judges releasing criminals who shouldn’t be allowed out in public isn’t a serious problem that needs to be fixed somehow. Fine’s posturing isn’t the fix, though, and detracts from more serious proposals.

  2. I don’t trust him. Randy Fine is a bought and paid for zionist. Any bill that he introduces, I’m sure, is an attempt to somehow benefit Israel. If he were any other Congressman I would give them the benefit of the doubt, but not him.

  3. Saying that “judges should be held accountable” is meaningless. The devil is in the details, how, precisely do you aim to achieve this?

The criminal justice system is enforced, defined, and ignored (if so desired) by those put in office by the people. Blue cities have DA’s and chiefs of police who only selectively enforce the law (depending on the targeted demographic), release bad guys with no bail, refuse to prosecute cases, and hand out ridiculously lenient sentences because this is what the voters want.

Equity and dispensation for perceived past injustices trumps the safety of its citizens. “Law and order” is racist.

  4. I would think similar verbiage as the Bartender Overserving drunks law would work when combined with habitual violator legislation. It would need to be mandatory sentencing with no suspended sentences.

  5. Another toothless, show pony, BS piece of legislation!

Even if it did everything everyone wants it to do, what about the victim(s) and their families who are unfortunate enough to put it the law in play? What about them? What kind of consequence to a judge could equal the totally avoidable losses to the nth victim?

72 prior arrests on the last animal who has imperiled and forever changed the life of a beautiful young woman who has a life of pain and anguish ahead of her, if she manages to survive his unspeakably evil act.

  6. I’d rather see a law banning Congress from granting itself exemptions from the laws it passes, and setting up secret funds to payoff lawsuits against individual members.

  7. The penalty should be removal from the bench. Judges should also be removed if they are overturned on appeal 3 times or more. Maybe they would pay more attention to the law than their feelings.

  8. They also shouldn’t be allowed to donate to causes, campaigns, politicians, and protests, or talk shit about a case before they get it or while they’re on it.

If a juror isn’t allowed to talk about a case, or the people involved in it, while he or she is on the jury, why is the judge allowed to do it?

  9. I used to raise chickens, and I had a hate filled rooster that used to chase kids on bicycles, joggers, my wife and even me. It ended when I put him in the pressure cooker and had him for dinner. Some times you have to cull the herd whether you want to or not. Same for humans.
