U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks announced that nearly all illegal immigrants detained will be charged a $5,000 “apprehension fee.”
In a post on X on Thursday, Banks said illegal immigrants ages 14 and older who entered the country without inspection will face a fee, a provision included in the “big, beautiful bill,” which President Donald Trump signed into law in July.
“This message applies to all illegal aliens — regardless of where they entered, how long they’ve been in the U.S., their current location, or any ongoing immigration proceedings,” Banks wrote. More

Well if they’ve got the money to send back home (which they obviously do) they have the money to pay the fee!
Instead of getting a $5,000 fine and lifetime ban from ever re-entering the United States when caught, there is an easier way.
Exit now and collect $1,000 cash on the way out with a clean record for future re-entry.
Add to a remittance tax the price of fines levied, making those sending cash home pay for their illegal brethren, whomever they be.
Oh, fuck, yeah. I’ve been saying that we should have done this all along. They’ve incurred a cost on the U.S. simply by being here, it’s costing additional money chasing them down, processing them, and transporting them — of course they should pay for it. And make it well known that if you come here illegally, not only are you getting busted and deported, you’re paying for every God damn cent of the process. Make coming here more expensive than it’s worth.
