We should all learn the hangman’s knot. We are going to need it.
23
I’ve gotten by for fifty years with just the square knot, two half hitches and occasionally, the bowline knot. But I’m sure the zeppelin is a very nice knot.

Oh Fur. Stop being so knotty.
That’s what she said.
7
Tony R I do believe Bubba Wallace is an expert on that one!

Maybe we can try Bubba’s know on these effin spammers here!

13 loops or 11.
1
I invented the knot.
7
OK. I tried it a few times. A useful knot to know.
Sadly I will not remember this when I actually have to join two ropes together.
4
Why not call it the “69 knot”, that would be easier to remember.
8
My screen door has a busted Handle.
So I actually have been using a “loop” like the one everyone had a shit about.
It works well and cost Fuck All!
That was great. Thanks!

Jethro Bodine actually invented the knot when he was spying for the Republic of The Ozark Mountains….He was a double knot spy….

An old man told me many years ago If you can’t tie a knot tie a lot.

The problem with that Zeppelin Knot is that if it isn’t under constant tension it can loosen. There are better knots to connect two similar ropes. The Fisherman’s Knot works pretty well, but if you want a really solid connection, use the Grapevine Knot, a/k/a Double Fisherman.
NB: these are EASY knots to learn and tie.

Zip ties.

I learned about 35 knots when I was a boy scout 45 years ago. The bowline knot, double bowline, square knot, half hitches, sheet bend, and the trucker’s hitch are all knots I have used. The one I did not learn back then but have mastered is the monkey fist. It works better with a .750″ steel ball bearing in the middle.
2
Knot plus knot equals knot.

You guys makin’ fun of me?

Not knowing how he knows, Uncle Al knows his knots.

Me? My nose knows its snots, but not its knots.

37 YEARS of Scouting (BEFORE they turned FAAAAAAAAAAAABBBBBBBBBU-LOUS!!!!) & I learned ’em all (had 4 rows of award & training knots on my uniform).
2
I received many knots to the head back in Junior High.
in construction, I do believe they ought to have a test on how to tie a square knot before you can get hired.
But I think they’re settling for anybody that knows how to push a broom? Not a joke.
1
Anyone that hunts or fishes knows how to tie many knots.
Egg loops are a fun one to learn when fishing for Steelhead or a nail knot for tying on a tippet to fly line.

knotology 101
Square knot
First part of tying your shoes over and under then do the same thing and reverse over and under.
Why, because I don’t want to spend 5 minutes taking your slip not apart.
thanks
^^^ edit- knot not not.
@ Geoff C. The Saltine….May you and Abigail be fly fishing relentlessly for years to come….

if you have to do long runs of signal wires learn how to do sennits. you don’t get the problem of one wire getting snagged and breaking at a connection. any tension gets distributed along all the wires
I’m happy if I can tie my shoelaces.
I use duct tape.
