A new bronze statue on the National Mall takes aim at former President Donald Trump with what appears to be a giant poop emoji on a desk.
The desk – located near 3rd Street NW – also had a bronze office phone and a nameplate that says “Nancy Pelosi.” The plaque with the statue said it’s meant to “honor” the Jan. 6 rioters. It reads:
“This memorial honors the brave men and women who broke into the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 to loot, urinate and defecate throughout those hallowed halls in order to overturn an election. President Trump celebrates these heroes of January 6th as ‘unbelievable patriots’ and ‘warriors.’ This monument stands as a testament to their daring sacrifice and lasting legacy.”

If they had put the poop sitting behind the desk it would be more accurate.
What do these people think they are going to accomplish by doing stuff like that? They’re just reinforcing everyone else’s already low opinion of them. Actions like this are definitely NOT going to convince anyone to change their vote. It’s far more likely that it will move more people over to Trump’s side.
Loot? OK, some folks took (stole) souvenirs and they ought not to have done that. But piss and shit? This is the first I’ve heard of that. Did that really happen? If so how did I miss that in the thousands and thousands of words and hundreds of photos I’ve eyeballed of the events of Jan. 6, 2021?
