Her name is Rachel Bitecofer and she has a new book out “Hit Them Where It Hurts: Save Democracy by Beating Republicans at Their Own Game.” Bitecofer has been making the rounds lately promoting her work with such gems of wisdom as the following.
We want to hit Republicans, even weekly. We sanitize it: “Republicans are stopping progress. So we can’t protect our kids at school.” How about: “Republicans are siding with killers over kids by giving them weapons of war,” right? We have to make it pop. And if you don’t make it pop, and you don’t make an image and in-the-gut message, it’s not going to be effective. And if it’s not effective, you’re not going to win. And if you don’t win, we’re not going to have Congressional majorities. And if we don’t have Congressional majorities at this point, who knows what happens to Latinos, to Muslims, to the press… We have to hold on to power at all costs. [emphasis added] So it really is time for people to get out of their comfort zones and do the hard work of winning the narrative.

On a Book TV appearance, Bitecofer (at the 8:00 mark) tells all democrats running for office that the number one thing they have to do is “Brand your opponent as an extremist.” She believes in “mass polarization” and that the “American public doesn’t know anything about politics.” She sees it as her job (as a holder of a Ph.D. in poli-sci and former academic) to instruct democrats on how to further polarize the electorate and demonize opponents to the Democrat Eliteocracy.
Perhaps even more revealing is Bitecofer’s Super PAC “Strike PAC” which purports will “Save Democracy” by “Electing Democrats”. I recommend viewing the two short campaign videos Strike PAC has posted on its website as prime examples of the lengths Bitecofer’s is willing to go to polarize the masses and demonize opponents.
