NEWSER) – Women in one country will soon be getting abortions by phone, with no need to see a pharmacist or a doctor. Their only outside visits will be to medical clinics for ultrasounds and blood tests, the Sydney Morning Heraldreports. The Tabbot Foundation in Australia is offering to assess women by phone and, provided they pass, send them do-it-yourself abortion kits with anti-nausea drugs, painkillers, prophylactic antibiotics, mifepristone, and misoprostol (also called RU486) for $250. “Medical pregnancy termination through teleconference is one of the most appropriate medical conditions you can use this for because you don’t have to examine the patient,” says a Tabbot spokesman. “It will also mean women who might have felt intimidated going into an abortion clinic don’t have to.”
So much for the so-called health of the mother crap~
What a lovely world we have….just makes you want to scream.
Great so in a few years the high school nurse will be able to send girls home with a do-it-yourself abortion kit but still won’t be able to give her a midol witout a permission slip signed in triplicate.
This reminds me of Rush’s story about the caller abortion from the early days of his show where he aborted a call from a listener to his program. It got the point across.

As someone who’s had her share of “female problems” and has had to go under the knife more than once for same, I can see nothing but problems with this approach. A PHYSICAL EXAMINATION should be part and parcel of every non-emergency intervention.
And shame on the far-right wing for making these sluts so “uncomfortable” going to abortion clinics that they now have to “phone it in.”
