Absent For 8 Years – Leftist Rags Begin To Trot Out Homeless Stories That Will Define the Trump Era

Let the record show that the first shot in 2017 came on Obama’s watch.

Like the swallows returning to Capistrano, here come the homeless, poor and disenfranchised stories that seem to dominate the newsroom when a republican administration is in the white house.

D.C. Homelessness Doubles National Average as Living Costs Soar

WASHINGTON — In the shadow of the house where Frederick Douglass spent his final 17 years, and just across the snaking Anacostia River from the trendy Washington Navy Yard neighborhood, are the Valley Place Family Apartments, a transitional housing complex for some of the most vulnerable residents of the nation’s capital.

This is where two mothers, Anita White and Jasmine Kelly, awake at dawn each day to make a life for their families.

Ms. White, 27, and Ms. Kelly, 25, live in what amounts to a parallel universe in Southeast Washington, as the city and its suburbs accumulate staggering wealth while its poorest residents grow poorer. In December, a devastating survey of 32 big cities prepared by the United States Conference of Mayors showed Washington with the highest rate of homelessness. There are 124 homeless people for every 10,000 residents here, more than twice the national average.

!snip!

Prepare for the photo essays of poor people laying on refrigerator boxes as Trump’s white house looms in the horizon.

I haven’t seen ONE of these photos in 8 years. Funny that.

This is why people hate the media.

  1. It might be a good idea to get everyone with a camera (that’s everyone, right?) to take as many pictures as possible between now and 1-20-17 and make a world record size project of photo-journalizing the state of homelessness as obama leaves office. I know I’ve not seen anything this bad in Seattle-Portland area as we have now.

  2. I hate flying BTW
    Example #8,432
Arrive at small east coast airport at 3 pm for 4:30 flight, flight is already delayed to 7 pm at that point. Cannot find crews to fly, most of the flights on the board are delayed. The flight departure time then changes to 8:30, then 10:15, 11:30 and currently sits at 12:04am. When I get to the murder capital of America to catch the connection it will be 2am then just a short 6 hour wait till that flight leaves for home.

There are 14 people on this flight and we are the only reason the lights are still on.

  3. There has to be a list around here somewhere that tells a reporter which stories get the “oh crap there is a republican in the WH” seal of approval.

We’re gonna see homeless reported nightly.

We’re gonna see gas prices reported to be unbelievably high at $2.69/gal

    We’re gonna see…what?

I don’t remember the all. There have been no problems in our country for 8 years.

  4. I think there are a lot of homeless that don’t have to be, most can make good tax free money doing it, so why stop.
In Portland they are putting up nice 8’x10′ shacks along the I – 5 by Swan Island.

  5. Homelessness is a boutique industry in Seattle and it’s been thriving while Obama’s been in office. Local libtards are well aware of this but will be happy to blame Trump for it.

  6. 2017 Prediction #7: An un-PC Trump administration will begin the task of calling things what they really are. Words that have been hammered into the U.S.’ collective unconscious such as “homeless” will erupt into a staggering number of specific words like “derelict”, “vagrant”, “mentally ill”, “alcoholic”, “drug addict”, “vagabond”, “itinerant”, “illegal alien”, “fugitive (of the law)”, and “hobo.” Just for starters.

  7. Don’t kid yourself the media runs the country. They can make a horrible president look like a saint and now it’s time to make Trump look like the worst president ever.
It will work, I guarantee it. Look at Reagan. Tore him a new one every day.

  8. Homelessness in Los Angeles has always been bad, but it has definitely grown worse under Obama. What used to be confined largely to skid row and parts of Hollywood has now worked its way into main parts of downtown, some of Hollywood Hills and Studio City. The Panera in Studio City had to put combination locks on the bathroom doors to keep out the homeless who would go in there to bathe in the sink. Or sleep. Customers have to ask for the lock combo to get in to take a whiz.

  9. Yes. That’s the way it will be. Children eating Ketchup, homeless people freezing and dying, no heat in schools; videos of body bags and draped coffins. (I pray not) But brace yourselves for it.

  10. Don’t ever forget that O’devil ignored the homeless, the vets, and the truly poor, and flooded the country with illegals and “refugees”, all of whom receive preferential treatment in all ways, and are placed on all the gimme programs. Great legacy, huh? No wonder he uses the Zer0 for his log0.

  11. There has to be a move this year to clamp down on alternative media on the web, or these hypocritical old narratives will quickly lose steam and die as fewer people believe them.

  12. The desperate will never give up but at least it keeps them busy. Always verify first, something liberals know nothing of. They are like stray dogs, they just grab a bone and run with it.
