A guy is shooting a movie with a fake gun and now he might lose the next five years of his life.
It’s a good thing Chris Christie dropped out of the presidential race because this is the kind of anti-gun bullshit his state of New Jersey is known for and why people never bought his conservative credentials. An actor was recently arrested for holding a realistic looking BB gun in a film shoot and now faces a serious weapons charge.
News 12 reports that Carlo Bellario had a small part in a low-budget movie being filmed in Woodbridge, NJ. His role was that of a drug dealer’s bodyguard and as such he was required to carry a replica handgun. Here’s where things went south:
The scene the group was filming depicted a car chase with the actor pretending to shoot a gun out of the window of the car. Bellario had a realistic-looking, unloaded airsoft gun as his prop.
Neighbors were unaware that a movie was being filmed and called police.
Bellario says the police response was swift and terrifying.
“They rolled up hot. There was eight of them. They got out. They were all charged up, ‘who’s the guy driving, where’s the guy with the gun?’ I said, ‘I’m right here, we’re actors, we’re shooting a movie.’ I’m in character still. It was in my waistband. I pulled it out slowly because I don’t want to make the wrong move,” said Bellario.
Bellario was arrested and charged with illegal weapons possession despite the fact that the “weapon” he had was not even really a weapon. You see, in Chris Christie’s NJ, even a replica weapon is considered the same thing as illegally carrying a real firearm.
“If looks could kill it would have been us instead of him.”
Badco
So I guess if I wave a rubber dildo at a woman in NJ I can be charge with indecent exposure? Or maybe even attempted rape?
Make that “charged”.
Granted the gun laws in NJ seem outrageous, but what the hell are those guys thinking by filming a shootout and not telling anyone what they are doing. They are probably lucky they didn’t get shot for real.
Absurd yet typical for anti-gun Tub of Lard Christie.
Another gun unfriendly aspect of Krispy’s NJ is this

Retired cops can’t get ‘permits’. Permit my a**. It’s a license since the 2nd Amendment is the permit.
Jersey’s a shit hole.
Some of the nastiest people in the country.
And they just get nastier the farther north you go.
(nasty like ass holes, not ragheads)
Reason 31,415,926,536 to NOT go to New Jerkoff. Granted the film crew acted amateurish not notifying what they were doing.
I assumed you had to have permits, and fees paid, in order to shoot films in Joisey – guess I was wrong.
Most states want a cut out of everything.
“Go Fund Me” Phuck you asshole. Ger your stupid producer or whatever to fund you.
Aside from that, gun laws in Jersey suck and I’m glad the Pillsbury Doughboy is back in Trenton.
I read this story elsewhere. This particular version left out one critical detail: the asshole producers told Bellario they would post his bail–then welshed on the offer.
@Vietvet – It depends on whut yer definition of indecent is. Red Foxx had the best one!
You would like to think that there is room for a little common sense in the law, but not in New Jersey.
Went there once. Cape May was nice, but we discovered that “Fuck” must be the State Word. Seems like most of the locals say F this and F that all the time.
@RatFink: So THAT’s where all the Internet commenters live! I always wondered about that…
