I really love these videos, however, the percentage of dogs who come back to the shelter because the new owners couldn’t/wouldn’t put in the time and energy necessary is off the charts ridiculous.
You don’t just get a dog, you have to “maintain” that dog; proper food, exercise, shelter, regular vet visits but mostly love, lots and lots of love. It’s a commitment that, sadly, a lot of folks are not up to.

Hope that the families bring the doggies back to say “hello” to this beautiful young man every now and then.

I just adopted a 40lb 3yo blonde labradoodle stray from the shelter last thursday. She had me from the second we met. She is the smartest, sweetest, and most gentle dog I’ve ever had. I took her to the vet for her overall physical yesterday which went very well. After that, I took her to the doggo spa as she hadn’t been groomed in at least a year. Her name was unknown so I named her Lucy, she was responding in a couple days. I get to come home and say, “Lucy I’m home” in my best Cuban accent.
I’ll try to get Miss Claudia before and after photos.

Sitting With Dogs with Rocky Kanaka on youtube is good too.
These people who take care of kennel animals are wonderful.

I’ve adopted 10-12 senior rescues in the last 15 years. I can’t stand the idea of an old dog dying alone in a cage. We’ve got two right now and they are the best dogs on earth. It’s heartbreaking because I get them toward the end of life but we give them love, comfort and as good a final year or so as possible. Humans don’t deserve dogs.
