  1. I really love these videos, however, the percentage of dogs who come back to the shelter because the new owners couldn’t/wouldn’t put in the time and energy necessary is off the charts ridiculous.

You don’t just get a dog, you have to “maintain” that dog; proper food, exercise, shelter, regular vet visits but mostly love, lots and lots of love. It’s a commitment that, sadly, a lot of folks are not up to.

  2. I just adopted a 40lb 3yo blonde labradoodle stray from the shelter last thursday. She had me from the second we met. She is the smartest, sweetest, and most gentle dog I’ve ever had. I took her to the vet for her overall physical yesterday which went very well. After that, I took her to the doggo spa as she hadn’t been groomed in at least a year. Her name was unknown so I named her Lucy, she was responding in a couple days. I get to come home and say, “Lucy I’m home” in my best Cuban accent.

I’ll try to get Miss Claudia before and after photos.

  3. I’ve adopted 10-12 senior rescues in the last 15 years. I can’t stand the idea of an old dog dying alone in a cage. We’ve got two right now and they are the best dogs on earth. It’s heartbreaking because I get them toward the end of life but we give them love, comfort and as good a final year or so as possible. Humans don’t deserve dogs.
