American Tourist Killed by Isolated Tribe on Indian Island

Breitbart Asia: An American tourist visiting a remote Indian island was shot dead by an isolated island tribe known to use bows-and-arrows to attack foreign visitors, police said Wednesday.

Police officials identified the victim as John Allen Chau, 27, an American traveler who arrived at North Sentinel Island in the Indian Ocean last week through an illegal ferry manned by fishermen.

The Indian government places heavy restrictions on visits to the island to keep people from getting in contact with the Sentinelese tribe, a remote indigenous tribe considered to be one of the last tribal societies untouched by civilization.

One late August night in 1981, a cargo ship Primrose ran aground on a coastal reef near North Sentinel. As the ship wasn’t in an immediate danger of sinking, the Captain called in for assistance and left it at that.

The standoff went on for days until the weather permitted a helicopter to airlift the crew. The ship, with its cargo remained on the island to this day, and is still visible on Google Maps:

There are many teachable moments here: This is close to the heart of Leftists, the idea of the noble savage, unspoiled and uncorrupted by the westward march of imposed, Patriarchal, Judeo-Christian civilization. This is Man in his best and glorious state according to those who fly the banner of “Progress.”
