I am not normally a gambling man but, I did used to go to the VA derby with some friends who are… They always bet trifectas and all that mysterious shiite but, I would ask Mij (that’s Jim backwards), who is gonna win? He would tell me and I would place a bet on that horse to win, place or show… The upshot is, my buddies often left disappointed and I often left a few hundred bucks to the good..
The derby was always a good time, beautiful women in white dresses and hats and amazing horses running their asses off. Quite the spectacle. It is too bad that VA like NY couldn’t figure out how to make pony gambling profitable.

…one time a guy owned a new, fast racehorse who could also talk, but he didn’t care about anything but winning races. The horse was a young stallion, and was less worried about races than fillies.
…the horse did just fine in solo practice and trials, and with dollar signs in his eyes, the owner put him in his first race.
The horse was in the starting gate next to a filly, whom he was nickering with as they lined up. The trumpet blew, the gate opened, the announcer announced, and the horse blazed around the track…but stopped just before the finish line and let the filly cross.
The owner was mad, he paid a fortune for that horse, and wasn’t paying for “place”. He asked the horse why he lost right at the line. The horse said, “Boss, I was gonna win for you, but that little filly batted her eyes an me, tossed her mane, and I just HAD to let her win so I could get lucky”.
The owner fumed at this and said, “I’m not having it, I’m paying for you to win, not breed. One more like that and you’re getting gelded”.
He stomped off.
..next race, though, same thing happened. While lined up at the starting gate, a filly nuzzled him, the race trumpet blew, the gate opened, the announcer annouced, and the horse almost won, only to stop suddenly and let the filly beat him.
The owner was livid. He stomped down to the paddock after the race, picked up.a vet, and said “GELD HIM” without even trying to talk with the horse.
The deed was done.
Before the next race, the owner went down to talk to the horse. “Horse, you gonma win?” The horse said “yes, boss, those thoughts are gone, I’m not thinking about anything but winning.”
Pleased, the owner went and bet a bundle, and was even more pleased when he saw the horses lining up, and his horse just ignoring the blandishments and nuzzlings of the fillies.
This time, they lined up, the trumpet blew, the gate opened, the announcer announced…and the horse promptly crossed his rear legs and fell, completely losing the race.
The furious owner stomped down to the horse again, and demanded an explanation.
The horse said, “I was good, Boss. Those thoughts were gone, and I was focused, I was gonna do it for you. But when the gate opened, some smart assed guy behind me yelled “AND THEY’RE OFF!”, so I got embarassed, crossed my legs to hide it, and then I couldn’t stay stood up to run…
With the low standards used for counting coronavirus caused deaths. It may be likely this late doctor’s cause of death will be listed as coronavirus. Rather than the actual cause. It’s tragic that Dr Breen took her own life.

Probably other similar cases will add to the count if the lockdown continues much longer. They need to get the count up to justify the advice to shutdown the economy. And pull out a win for their advice.
Well, after watching to the finish line. I drew 2 conclusions.
I wasn’t really surprised at the winner.
All of us who have been forced to watch and bet on the race have lost money.
Oh wait. There is a 3d conclusion. The video was darned funny.
