Ann Coulter blasts Trump shutdown compromise: ‘We voted for Trump and got Jeb!’

The Hill-

“100 miles of border wall in exchange for amnestying millions of illegals. So if we grant citizenship to a BILLION foreigners, maybe we can finally get a full border wall.”

In exchange for funding for a steel barrier at the border, Trump’s proposal included three years of legislative relief for about 700,000 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program recipients and a three-year extension for about 300,000 refugees covered by a temporary protected status. He also proposed increasing funds for drug detection at the border and increasing the number of border agents and immigration judges.

After Trump campaigned heavily on building a border wall during his 2016 presidential run, some of his most far right supporters have cried foul at any perceived attempt to compromise on immigration. Coulter and other media hosts such as Rush Limbaugh have led to the charge to convince the president to stick to his campaign promise.

Coulter told Vice News this week that Trump would be “dead in the water if he doesn’t build that wall.”

“It’s a textbook example of what the drive-by media calls compromise,” Limbaugh said on his radio show Wednesday. “Trump gets nothing, and the Democrats get everything, including control of the House.”

The president has proven to be sensitive to critique that he is faltering in negotiations on a border wall.

  1. If Ann Coulter isn’t smart enough to see what’s going on here, she should STFU. Nicely played Mr President, Pelosi has already declined the offer. If he keeps this up he will break the Libtard Party.

  2. Agreed Brad. Trump had a very decent proposal a year or so ago to allow DACA applicants who lived upstanding lives for the next few years to petition for citizenship in exchange for tightening immigration security. This basically derives from that. It may not be perfect but it is a reasonable negotiation.
Pelosi’s immediate dismissal proves once again how little they care for Americans.

  3. Amazing how people continue to underestimate President
Trump’s ability to achieve optimal solutions.

It’s never about what it APPEARS to be about, got it?

Too many folks want immediate gratification…

What we really need are long-term, strategic victories!

Keep calm and learn to be patient.

And remember, Ann Coulter used to date Bill Maher, so clearly every now and then she’s a complete and total idiot.

  4. I’m of the opinion that what DJT just did was make an offer he expects to be refused. If that’s the case, it puts him in a much better environment tomorrow in which to take what would today be considered by his supporters to be “extreme” measures.

  5. And yet after two years there is still no wall, multi-millions of illegal alien invaders are still here (and more coming every day), anchor babies are the norm, but we are however continually negotiating (to no avail) and no progress whatsoever is being made on getting them out or keeping them out!

  6. Poor old Nancy is getting rag-dolled. Trump owns her on Thursday, then offers a huge compromise on Saturday. Nancy, who is still massaging the schlong dent out of her left cheek, is not going to take a chance on her right cheek, so there’s no way she’s getting back in the ring on his terms. Better go ask Sandy what she should do.

    18
  7. ‘yet after two years’, how about the previous 38 years?
Of electing democrats that have constantly not enforced the oath they sworn to only in a truly broken voting system.
Promises made Promises broken, must agree, yet have been continued for decades being elected.
‘no progress whatsoever is being made on getting them out or keeping them out’ by Democrats.

    9
  8. Not everyone will like this offer but I think it is OK
2700 new agents 75 new judges and staff to help with to back log to get more of the rif raf out of the country. 275 miles of wall in the most needed places.
When the Dem’s reject this and we know they will, the people we see the Dem’s as the real owners of the shut down not P.Trump. He has pushed them into a corner of their own making.
Also if it is rejected he is now free to say I tried and go onto declairing a emergency and build the wall.

    19
  9. Consider this possibility: Coulter has been doing what superficially looks like Trump-bashing at the request of Trump. Her slams have caused a significant fraction of DJT’s base to keep the pressure up on their House reps and Senators to remain adamant about the wall. This would be a good thing.

I don’t know how likely this scenario is, and offer it simply for discussion if any are so inclined.

    10
  10. Sure, he assumes they will refuse it. BUT, what if they didn’t? It’s essentially the same ploy they sunk “Read My Lips” with. I support the President, but Ann’s facts are indisputable, as it is presented it is a lousy deal with plenty of chance to backfire.

  11. Uncle Al I think Ann is all about Ann,she has no bearing on how I feel about P.Trump.
How many people will not vote for P.Trump because of how she reacts about the lack of a wall?
Most informed voters know that P.Trump has done all that he can do to get it built,he is trying to work with in the frame work of the law and not going the route of BO with a phone and a pen if he can help it.
EO’s are to easy to change by the next president.

    9
  12. Not to worry. Demtards will trip over themselves to NOT take this deal. Trump THEN declares the emergency, wall gets built, demtards get NOTHING.

    Well… aside from “unemployment” – after January 2021. 😎

    11
  13. Oh, right, Annie.
What is the color of the sky in your world, Annie.
Ca you imagine Jeb shutting of Nancy’s flight?
Can you imagine Jen, married yo Mexican Columba, doing anything to stop the illegals.

    9
  14. Remember, “It’s the economy, stupid.” It’s more important to keep employment improving. President Trump should offer the legalization of kiddie porn. There’s a yuge market. The cost of market entry is low. And Congress is likely to refuse. As long as Congress is, maybe, likely to refuse what’s wrong with, just, offering officially sanctioned, commercial scale, kiddie porn?

  15. Having asked myself, if ‘you’ had the contacts, money, resources and the ‘balls’ to run in being the POTUS of the US , would you have run?
J Edger Hoover had shit on who ever he wanted, Bill Gates the same on J Edger Hoover. Tides turn. Steve Jobs was always a cheap F*ckup.
Trump trashed all the ignorant childish politicians like the bully coatroom trash they are.
That is what bothers them the most

    3
  16. He did not use the word ‘amnesty’ once.
He did talk about TCP, which is temporary and would be of 3 years duration, ending after the next election. I think he’s doing a good job.

I’m a little puzzled by pelosi’s response, which happened 5 minutes before Trump’s speech. I doubt it was planned that way. Apparently the speech, originally set for 3PM, was re-scheduled because the wymn’s march was going to the WH. So they moved it to 4PM. Had pelosi bought time for 4PM, thinking the speech would be over by then and that it would appear she had given the response thought? Or do they just not care how it appears? Anyway it is sliced, it should be played up that they responded to something that hadn’t yet happened. But then, there is mueller, sort of doing a variation of the same thing.

  17. “EO’s are to easy to change by the next president.”

Um…I don’t know if it’s true but this morning I read that some EO by Obama (can’t recall which…something to do with immigration) was going to be overturned by Trump but a leftist judge said he couldn’t, so he didn’t. Again, I don’t know if it’s accurate. If it is, I’m madder than I’ve been in months.

    4
  18. Ann, you ignorant slut. Trump was perfectly reasonable. He didn’t give anyone amnesty, he gave them a 3 year extension while a comprehensive immigration reform is put together.

    12
  19. Coulter should run for president.
    Coulter for president.
Would probably do worse than Lindsey.
She needs to limit her whining to things that can actually be changed.
Unless she can do better, of course.

    6
  20. Yup….it’s easy to sit and point fingers, Ann.

You’ve never been elected to anything, but by God, you sure act like you know how it’s done.

Kiss my ass, Ann. You are dead to me.

    9
  21. Trump should now say that by Tuesday if this is not approved I will go back to 25 billion no DACA and good luck getting me not to veto all dem bills. hasta la vista babies.

    8
  22. I may have this wrong, but didn’t Trump just offer the Dems what the courts said last week?
In other words, nothing on nothing?
O, well, the ball’s is in your court, Chancy.

    4
  23. A compilation from the comments section here, Best of,,,
    Ann, you ignorant slut.
I’m about tired of that skinny old skank. Yeah, I said it.
Kiss my ass, Ann. You are dead to me.
To cheap to pay for tits, too cowardly to get that Adam’s apple shaved.

If only Ann and Kathy Griffin would do a sit-down on Ellen,,,
We are the world, we are the people,,,
    BS

Patience, child. Patience. The adults are in charge now. President Trump still has two years in office. A bit less, until the election. The border is less than 2,000 miles long. Just a bit less. Including union contract construction, the whole thing can be done in less than a weekend. A week at most. Plenty of time, to not be another one term RINO.

    5
  25. The Dems are so triggered by Trump that he could offer no wall and total open borders and the Dems would reject it immediately. Maybe he could also propose the green new deal and Medicare for all, just to take them off the table forever.

    9
  26. @Rick

Ann is a beautiful and classy woman. You should not say that about her.

I am a bit disappointed in Trump today. He’s wrangling with the stupider elements of Congress. Why bother with them anymore? I thought he would lower the boom and kick ass today….but I am patient…for another week or two. But without a wall, I will not vote for him next time. No way I’ll vote for a democrap, but Trump will not get my vote unless a wall is either completed or under construction with an end-date in sight. He is wily, to be sure, but at some point, quit fooling around with Pelosi – just get it done.

    8
  27. Coulter may have instinctively known Mr. Trump would become President but, she’s always been a NeverTrumper. Her tirades only
reveal what a nutcase she can be. It doesn’t effect President Trump’s strategy to outwit Nasty Nancy, Chuckles and the party of Demwits.

    7
  28. Yeah, Ann, he’s EXACTLY like Jeb. *eye roll*
Remember when she was telling everyone they were stupid if they didn’t vote for CHRIS CHRISTIE??? He’s more amnesty than all the Dems put together.
    Fatter, too. lolz.

Is Ann taking violin lessons from Benny Shapiro?

    9
  29. This was all optics and Ann etc. were anticipated to react this way. In fact Pelosi, unable to control herself to even play it right, said no deal half an hour before Trumo spoke claiming what he was going to say was nothing new blah blah blah. No pretense of even pretending to consider it. Think Trump is setting them up for a State of the Nation event?! Who looks uncompromising?! Trump needs anger from both conservatives and dems. To be the rational guy compromising to make a deal to win the long game. Everyone playing their role exactly as expected.

    3
  30. Hey, Ann….
Were you actually convinced that Trump could snap his fingers and the wall would suddenly appear? Are you really as stupid as your commednts about Trump indicate? Didn’t you know he has to work with a congress that hates his guts? What would President Ann Coulter do? Not sure? Then STFU and support our president.

    7
  31. @45-70

nah…..He’s all we got….I can still support him for a couple of months – but that’s it. It’s got to be started or at least funded by end of March. If not, I’ll be neutral about him. No support, but no disrespect either. I’ll just be done with him.

    5
  32. OK … It seems many of you have forgotten the ART OF THE DEAL.
Here Trump has offered The Socialist-Democrats PART of what they wanted in exchange for a Border Deal deal. The Socialist-Democrats refused and offered no counter offer. Thus clearly showing it not give and take politics or any of the other social issues they whine about.

For the Socialist-Democrats its not about what best for America’s
Citizens it is about stopping Trump from undoing their Socialist-Democratic Deep State agenda that was started back in the 1970’s.

    2
  33. I have to laugh a little here. Everyone is touting Trumps clever gaming of Pelosi and company on the wall proposal. They see how he’s maneuvering her into a position that gives her few options and is turning public sentiment against her. All true….but at the same time failing to understand what Ann is doing!

    5
  34. @Bad Brad.

You, sir, severely underestimate my hatred of libtards. A disagreement with Trump over his willingness to negotiate with people who do not want to negotiate is not enough to throw me out of the conservative camp.

He should have declared a emergency decree yesterday to get it started.

Or do you have some other reason for saying “We don’t need you”? Let me know if you do.

    1
  35. And remember, Ann Coulter used to date Bill Maher, so clearly every now and then she’s a complete and total idiot.

Ann hasn’t had any credibility with me since she went all schoolgirl over Chris Christie.

And since Nan-Nan has rejected Trump’s offer, he should feel free to take something off the table, say DACA for instance and make her another offer.
