Yes is an acquired taste, I didn’t care for them when I first heard them. But three albums, The Yes Album, Fragile, and Close to the Edge are at the pinnacle of progressive rock at least in my humble opinion.
Allow me to state Kansas
I never liked Kansas. They felt like canned rock. Still, I admire their talent as musicians. But they don’t come close to Simon and Garfunkle.
One thing you can say about Kansas .. they probably had the greatest introductory riff in all of Rock history ..
