In an informative piece in “The Federalist,” Mary Grabar discusses Howard Zinn’s anti-America tome, “A People’s History of the United States.”
Grabar lays the anarchic goals of antifa at Zinn’s door, using a quote from David Horowitz who described Zinn’s “History” as “the Mein Kampf of the Hate America Left ” More

These people are enemies if the State and should be rounded up tried and imprisoned.
Zinn was a WWII vet, but I would not consider him a member of the Greatest Generation. He probably thought he was fighting for the USSR.
Zinn was a traitor just as much as the Rosenbergs. Why leftists hate America so much is a mystery to me.
Zinn along with one of the notorious Berrigan brothers went to N. Vietnam during the Vietnam War to protest American involvement in that war. As a Vietnam era vet that makes him a traitor in my book. I could never stand that bastard and fortunately I have never read his Anti American history book.
Never heard of him.
And he can keep his Anqueefas. 🙄
Leftists hate America because they hate God first and foremost and America as it was founded on Judeo Christian and not Enlightenment principles. It’s as simple as that. And like Dennis Prager says all the time, leftism destroys everything it touches.
I bet @richtaylor bought a copy of that book.
The fact that you don’t know him but that he is required reading in almost all of America’s colleges is the problem.
I have a copy of his screed against the US … read it & did a lot of research on his claims (very time-consuming & a lot of library time spent back in the days before Al Gore’s Amazing Internet™) … most of his stories (basically, that’s how the book is set up, as a did-you-know this story about how bad America is? easy propaganda for young minds) are either wildly embellished, misrepresented, purposely misinterpreted or outright lies
Yeah, when good Will Hunting recommended reading Howard Zinn to some fed gov agencies trying to recruit him to work for them. That pretty much killed the premise of the movie that Will was a super genius from the south side of Boston. It was clear Will really wasn’t all that bright or only smart but not wise. Probably more like another Unabomber.
Blink: that is because Zinn was a next door neighbor of Matt Damon and grew up with Zinn indoctrinating him.
And the brainwashing took. So when Damon portrays himself as some rationale Democrat, that’s acting. He’s had firsthand brainwashing from Zinn himself. And put his work in his breakthrough movie.
Never knew that Matt Damon and Howard Zinn were neighbors. I just figured Matt is a devoted Howard Zinn believer.
afaik only in GW Hunting did Matt directly name Zinn, but some of his other movies seemed to have been done to fully propagate the Zinn view, with short bits and pieces in several of his other movies indicating support for the Zinn opinion of America.
