I saw Sam in concert, just a few rows back. THE BEST comedy show I’ve ever seen live. He pointed at a guy in the front row and asked him if a woman ever broke his heart. The man acknowledged that one had and Sam asked him what her name was. “Debbie.” Then he just went to town. “Debbie. DEBBIE! IF DEBBIE WAS HERE WE’D TELL HER WHAT A FUCKING BITCH SHE IS, HUH?!?!” And the entire crowd in unison shouted back at him, “YEAH!” He asked the guy for Debbie’s number and called Debbie from a dial phone that the two sisters he was living with at the time brought out for him onstage and humiliated Debbie for all of us to hear. LMAO!
He was one screwed up dude but his comedy was fantastic. Hilarious guy.
Nice singing voice. Kinison sounded a lot like Willie Nelson with more range.
The sreaming was his shtick, and it got a little disturbing but he was naturally very funny.
