Arizona Commerce Authority Ordered by Guv to Pull Nike’s Financial Incentive Package After They Pull Betsy Ross Tribute Sneaker

Apparently Nike takes their marching orders from THIS GUY—>

Governor Ducey’s statement:

Today was supposed to be a good day in Arizona, with the announcement of a major Nike investment in Goodyear, AZ. And then this news broke yesterday afternoon.

Words cannot express my disappointment at this terrible decision. I am embarrassed for Nike.

Nike is an iconic American brand and American company. This country, our system of government and free enterprise have allowed them to prosper and flourish.

Instead of celebrating American history the week of our nation’s independence, Nike has apparently decided that Betsy Ross is unworthy, and has bowed to the current onslaught of political correctness and historical revisionism. It is a shameful retreat for the company.

American businesses should be proud of our country’s history, not abandoning it.

Nike has made its decision, and now we’re making ours. I’ve ordered the Arizona Commerce Authority to withdraw all financial incentive dollars under their discretion that the State was providing for the company to locate here.

Arizona’s economy is doing just fine without Nike. We don’t need to suck up to companies that consciously denigrate our nation’s history.

And finally, it shouldn’t take a controversy over a shoe for our kids to know who Betsy Ross is. A founding mother. Her story should be taught in all American schools. In the meantime, it’s worth googling her.

  1. Anti-American shoe company dedicated to Anti-American athletes while using child labor to make their overpriced shoes marketed to thug shoplifters. Yes! This is what the founding Fathers had in mind for our future.

  2. Governor Ducey has balls. It always does take balls to do what’s right these days. Good for him. As far as Nike is concerned, they can stick billions of the future unsold Oreos up their corporate asses. I wouldn’t miss them OR Nabisco.

  3. I thought companies hired celebrities to promote their products, not tell people how they suck. If I paid someone millions to promote my stuff and they did the opposite, I’d shitcan the asshole in a heartbeat. The fact Nike doesn’t speaks volumes on what they think of shareholders. If I owned Nike stock I’d dump it faster than Nike should have dumped the kneeler.

  4. Hey Joe, I’ll swap you governors, even throw in a first round draft pick and some cash.

Let’s be clear, whether it was a mistake to hitch their cart to Kaepernick or to genuflect at the alter of identity politics, this was a calculated move by Nike that will, in my opinion, add to their bottom line.

I’m all for product boycotts on ideological grounds, but doing so in this instance will not dent sales to their “woke” customers. That is their target base.

I suspect that Megan Rapinoe will be the next Nike hire.

  5. I went to the governor’s website and sent him an email congratulating him on a job well done. I wish he were the governor of my once-great state of Nevada instead of the horse’s ass elected by Clark and Washoe counties.

  6. As an aside, I have a cousin that was Kaepernick’s HS coach in Turlock. He knew Colin’s parent’s, the salt of the earth, good Christian folks. It must be difficult, knowing that despite your best efforts to raise him right, that your adopted son turned out to be a class A rated jerkoff.

  7. Joe6pak: Inslee was another one of those politicians from Washington State who got elected to the House, couldn’t get re-elected, then moved to a more friendly district and had their political career take off. Maria Cantwell was another one.

Then you have Dow Constantine whose first job out of law school was to run for office. Now he is King County Executive. Yeah, he has a lot of real world experience to make him a good politician.

But Orange Man isn’t qualified to be President because he never held another political office before.

  8. Cleared house of everything Nike when air heads at Nike decided they had to suck up to pro cop killer Kaeppernick. Took all that stuff to an under a bridge blue tarp subdivision. Cracks me up to see homeless drug addicted bums walking around in filthy Nike shirts and shoes.

  9. How much of a fucktarded moron is the Nike exec allowing a shit-for-brains like Kraeppydick to make key marking calls for their multi-billion dollar company? Letting that woke jackass define one’s public image will work out just as well for Nike as it did for the NFL before they tossed that dumb cocksucker out on his narrow ass.

  10. Once again the left has decided to disparage a woman’s reputation because she’s a patriotic historical figure. This is what feminism looks like.

  11. They’ve been on the list for decades.

Say what you will, they know their target audience of elitist, white, upper class joggers and thugs who will sell their single mother’s eternal soul for something with LeBron James’ name on it.

  12. This shameful display does provide us with more proof of what an utter fraud Kaepernick is; his original reason for kneeling was to protest police brutality. How many time did he tells us that no, he was not protesting against the flag or the anthem, it was the injustice he was targeting. Well, lo and behold, turns out he really does have a hard on for our flag, it’s racist. What a phony.

  13. As a Nike stockholder I did not elect that un-american feckless POS to make decisions regarding impact on my investments. Therefore I am selling my stock share today. Nuck Fike. Swoosh….

  14. Football fan here: When I first saw Kaepernick play, I wondered who or what he was – a dusky skinned guy with White features. OK, maybe a Serbian, they have dusky skin, but the name? Then I find he was adopted by a White family who supported him through his whole childhood up to the NFL prize.
Now…he hates Whites or something. Oh well.

  15. Haven’t clicked the thumbs up thingy as many times as I have on this thread. Am reminded of an ad I saw a while back saying, “We sell AR15s, because we’re not dick’s.”

I’m getting old, but I hope I live long enough to witness KARMA kicking Caperdick’s ass big time. Believe I will see Nike pay for this sooner. And don’t even get me started on the NFL!

Thank you, I feel better now.

  16. Good for the Guv. I believe in giving tax breaks to companies to locate in certain areas that need employment, but AZ doesnt have that problem.

    > This is what the founding Fathers had in mind for our future.

    Define “founding”.

(Because, after 1789, you lose your SARC card.)

  18. The silver lining?

Who is Betsy Ross now…I typed into Goolag Bet…and it finished it for me! Would that have happened two days ago? Not sure…

Lost two husbands to the Revolutionary War and her parents and sister from yellow fever, buried the third husband and then went blind.

    Thanks Goolag.

Let’s makes this about Betsy now, not Colin KapinDick.
