We’ve been doing work for General Dynamics since the early 80’s. One of the better first tier contractors. Very good mechanically, a great quality organization to work with and eager to hear any DFMA ideas.
Many battles were won on the human ability to adapt and improvise. Good luck programming that ability into machines.

That companies been around for ever. Back in the day the specialized in servo motors, pick and place type shit. A some what natural progression to the dawgs of war I guess. About ten years ago we were doing a lot of R and D machining for a spin off. Macro Dynamics. They eventually went tits up. I was invited to attend an R and D engineering meeting. Which I did. It was held in the parking lot where they had placed a double wide that’s interior looked like it rolled out of the 70’s. About ten minutes into the meeting some one fired up a joint and started passing it around. I knew they were gonner right then. Engineering, like most things in life is a discipline. Oh yea, they manufactured throwable robots for military and law enforcement. What’s a throwable robot? You throw it in the room where the bad guys are, it rights itself and start filming. Someone piloted it remotely.
