As a Met fan… – IOTW Report

As a Met fan…

… and I mean The Metropolitan Opera.

No, I mean the Mets.

As a Met fan I’d be remiss to not report that Tim Tebow was signed by the Mets to play some winter ball to see what he’s got.

Looking at footage, I’m not holding my breath. He has an arm like a leg. His swing is decent, but in batting practice he’s having problems squaring the ball up.

But, you never know. He’s a big strong guy and there is a lot to work with. (Although in a workout against pro pitching he looked less than ordinary.)

It’s interesting. I’m rooting for him.

  1. I had the great pleasure to see him at his best when he took over the cellar dwelling Broncos mid way through that season and in the most spectacular, last second, heart stopping fashion, won 8 games(6 in a row!) to get them into the playoffs where he won another one(in OT of course!).

He was all set to lead from the beginning of the next season when we got Manning-the only possible thing that kept fans from storming the Broncos’ office and lynching Elway.

Magic is hard to recreate but here’s hoping you see some of it in NY.

  2. He’ll have a longer career and probably not be left a physical wreck when he’s finished. I look forward to Tebow hammering out the long balls for many years to come.

Being steroid free, he could be the best thing to happen to baseball in a long time.

  3. Every time the Broncos or the Patriots or the Eagles or the Jets have a problem with their QB and need to pull up the second string I think to myself “it’s too bad they don’t have a good backup QB they can rely on to save the day”.

  4. Good on him,
I don’t watch baseball but I like to see a guy reinvent himself, no matter what they do.
Lazlo’s sainted mother was a Dodgers fan from the Steve Garvey days, she would have liked this guy.

  5. @BFH – Wow! Never thought you would have given Tebow a chance. Are you mellowing in your old age?
    🙂

I like the guy (except when he was the FL QB and beat us endlessly) and hope he has success.
