I come from a large New York city where my parents were ward leaders.
My oldest brother, who is now a communist, used to fight with my Dad, mocking him for being middle-class/blue-collar while Republican. He said my Dad was too stupid to realize he was in the wrong party.
My Dad would say the left is not for the working man. They say they are, but they are for the super-rich and the super-poor. They do not care about the middle class.

I listened to this earlier today and a couple things struck me.

For a liberal, as she describes herself, she did an accurate job of explaining the mindset of overeducated liberals like a couple of my brothers. I think she also nailed what the hands on portion of our population sees in President Trump and why they will vote for him. She may be more conservative in the future.

Degreed folk frequently are conservative, sometimes “R”. Almost all in my town are college grads; most of US have grad degrees. Ronny got 80 % in ’84. lefty GWB got crushed with only 40 % in 2000. i am sure most of those GWB votes were white men without a degree. BTW I moved into a white minority town 55 years ago. Another liberal lie. With only 1 exception the non whites i know voted for Ronny and Don. That they did not vote GWB – to me – says they are conservative! To liberals is say liberal; but lefties are liars.
