ATLANTA — Atlanta police said a UPS driver was kidnapped at gunpoint and forced to drive to an abandoned lot early Tuesday morning, where a group of thieves stole packages off of his truck.
Investigators say that a suspect approached a UPS truck that was leaving a UPS facility near Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway around 3:30 a.m.
The suspect was able to get into the truck and forced the UPS driver to drive down a dirt road and to and abandoned lot nearby. Once they arrived, the group of thieves tied up the driver and stole packages from the truck before they left the scene.
“At least one suspect got in his truck, held him at gunpoint and gave him some directions to drive around the area,” police said. “They drove to the back of the lot, where they unloaded the contents on the back of the truck and loaded it onto their own truck that had been there waiting.” more
Sounds like Oops (oops! I mean UPS) needs to armor up, lock up, and arm up during deliveries, like the Big Money armored car companies.
since it is Atlanta, we know the race of the thieves so can we call this a Hate Crime yet?
And if the perps try to flag you down (I had a car breakdown…) or stand in the road, they have two choices; either jump aside or get run over. No reason for any Oops driver to stop other then at authorized & designated locations.
Anybody wonder what they look like?
“ Police have not released any details on a possible suspect.”
Gee, I wonder why not? I thought the cops were looking for the suspects?
I wonder if they will declare this as “stolen” income when they prepare their 1040’s this year?
If they would just reduce the penalty for this type of crime, we will see a reduction in the rate.
Shheet nobody got kilt brah!
UPs Yours!
Are companies like UPS and other freight companies going to reinstitute having a second person riding shotgun like they did with old West stagecoaches to keep thieves from attempting to steal their loads of freight? If it worked then why wouldn’t it work now.
That’ll slow down my order. Why do bad things always happen to me?
Most of the stuff will end up in an alley somewhere cuz it is unusable to them. And if you’re wondering who’s going to pay for this? Their insurance rates are going to go up, so the customers.
Smash and grab on wheels- a lot easier to get the stuff home.🤔
I’ll bet they left all the tools. And work boots.
When I drove the big trucks it was a dream of mine that someone jumped in the truck, pointed a gun and said drive here… I was gonna tell him fasten you’re seatbelt ’cause you’re in for one HELL of a ride MF’er. ALL traffic laws would be thrown out the window. I’d bet within three minutes the gunman would be begging me to stop and let him out!
Wonder how they knew something worth stealing was on THAT particular truck?
Ouija board? Black juju?
