ATTENTION STUPID PEOPLE- “CHINK IN THE ARMOR” IS NOT A RACIAL SLUR

Ron Darling, a very smart and sensitive man, said during his playoff broadcast that Yankee pitcher, Masahiro Tanaka, was developing a “chink in his armor” after he began pitching slightly less effectively than he had previously. This was a perfectly proper use of the phrase, but it stirred up the professionally discontented.

The usual low IQ a-holes came out of the woodwork to enjoy the sound of their own outrage on social media.

These people should be removed from society. They are an embarrassment and do not deserve a voice. They certainly shouldn’t be voting.

Do these imbeciles think that Darling harbors racial animosity to such a degree that he’s champing at the bit to unleash these slurs during worldwide telecasts? Or is it more that Darling doesn’t have a racist bone in his body, therefore he’s not on guard about possibly offending anyone while using the English language?

By the way. Tanaka is Japanese. “Chink,” as a slur, was meant to insult the Chinese. But who cares about facts? They all look alike anyway, amirite?

Also, Ron Darling’s mother is Hawaiian/Chinese. I doubt he’s throwing “chink” around as a slur.

Ron Darling attended Yale, but was drafted by the Texas Rangers one year short of completing his studies. It’s a crying shame that he would be under attack by people who have to be told to remove the wrapper on a Pop Tart before toasting.

  1. Ah, niggardly is another perfectly good word designed to terrify the idiots.

Simply, the word may not be used any more lest multiple strands of pearls break, clutter the floors. ….Lady in Red

  2. He used the word chink right in the traditional sense which means a weak spot that makes one vulnerable, but since it also in slang means a slight against a Chinese person the idiots will take the latter definition. Another good word shot to hell and soon to be removed from the English language because of political correctness. Once again I despise the left and their niggardly attitudes towards those who disagree with them. The left is nothing but a bunch of stingy, miserly bastards who only care about themselves and no one else.

  3. Every English citizen will bemoan how we Americans have learned to bastardize and mash the english spoken in our country.

Our idioms are indeed spoken by idiots for idiots so these sjw purists need to lighten up and enjoy Americana not berate it.

Darlings use of this phrase was an excellent color analysis of the game he is being paid to interpret.

  4. It’s easier than ever to look up a word today. There is no excuse for not doing so, if necessary, and finding that chink has multiple meanings and is not derogatory at all the way he used it.

  5. I first witnessed this insanity in 2001 in San Francisco. In a group meeting someone used the term gyp and the CFO unleashed and told her she should never use that word again, his mother’s family were gypsies and it was highly offensive. I thought he was joking and laughed but he was dead serious and beyond irate and both her and I. Preview to the manufactured outrage today.

  6. Groucho Marxist, I still have that Mad flag with all my old Mad magazines. If I were to show that publicly nowadays it would piss a lot of people off with no sense of humor in a bad way. But I’m keeping it anyway, we have lost a lot since the early 70’s where what used to be used to be funny and maybe controversial in a satirical tongue in cheek way is now forbidden.

  7. And, hey, Omarosa, saying “the pot calling the kettle black” is also not racist.

This is why we pharmacists must put “unwrap and insert rectally” on prescriptions for suppositories.

Jarheads started using the term “gooks”120 years ago in the Philippines. It was used again at: Tarawa, Iwo Jima, Guadal Canal…..and we used it again in ’67 + ’68.

A derogatory term applied to “yellow skinned” folk. I may have used it myself – over 1,000 times describing ChiCom.

  9. I remember many decades ago when WANG COMPUTERS were an up an coming thing, the ad agency wanted to use the slogan WANG…THE CHINK IN IBM’S ARMOR, Dr. Wang loved it but thought it might piss off his people so they dropped it.

A place I used to work in the early 1980’s got a bunch of Wang Computers installed, used mainly for word processing, as I recall. Some of my female coworkers would dance around while singing “Wang me, Wang me, you oughtta take a rope and Wang me”. Funny stuff.
