An Australian surfing champion fought back against a shark attack on live television during a competition in South Africa on Sunday, escaping from the terrifying scene without injury.
Mick Fanning, 34, was competing in the final heat of a world tour event at Jeffreys Bay in the country’s Eastern Cape province when a looming black fin appeared in the water behind him.
In a churn of water and spray, Fanning could be seen battling to fend off the shark.
This is why I only shower. If that were me that shark would have died from water pollution .
How long before he’s prosecuted for mammal abuse?
Hopefully you’re talking about the shark. Lol
These days you can’t tell!
Good enough for me. LOL
That dorsal looks like it belongs to a 3,000 pound Great White.
I watched this earlier. His surfer friend went to his aid, I think the jet ski got there first. And his friend cried when he talked about seeing him go under.
Very lucky man. They called off the event and split the prize.
Very lucky man indeed!!!
Sharks just ain’t what they used to be.
Wonder if he shit his bathing suit liner?
That was terrifying to watch. He probably had nightmares over it.
Actually, it’s the tail. Seems a 9 – 11 foot
