Bad Shoot?

  1. Good shoot. The guys got a gun in his hand. If my wife or grand kids are in my truck, he’s dead. He’s obviously unhinged and threatening. Am I afraid for my life? Yes.

  2. the guy fucked up by approaching the truck with gun in hand, and then raised it in a menacing fashion. Impossible to know what lead to that but the guy in the truck could easily say he felt his life was in danger.

  3. That asshole got what was coming to him. Cutting someone off in traffic. Walking up to him gun drawn, screaming like a maniac and then pounding on his door with the piece. The dead guy is where he belongs, out of the land of the living, the stupid fuck.

  4. Looked a little closer – was that a gun in his hand? If so, still not sure the driver was justified in shooting. The other guy never pointed it at the diver and then dropped his arm and took the gun out of that hand with his other arm. Despite that, the heat of the moment probably justified the shooting.

  5. Two assholes with pistols exchange heated words over a momentary event of no real consequence. One is dead at the hand of the other. The dead guy’s family has to live with that. The shooter has to live with himself.

  6. Imagine being the guy in the truck. You see a guy rush up to you, screaming, with a gun in his hand. Then you see his hand rise up and you hear BANG BANG (him hitting the door). Then he lowers and raises his hand quickly toward the window. Wouldn’t you think he about to shoot at you? No time to debate in your head. You have to make an instant life or death decision.
    He made the right one.

  7. No traffic altercation justifies pulling a gun and rushing another vehicle in anger. Just film it and call the cops. That’s why I have a two camera video system in my car, filming front and back with wide angle lenses.

  8. First, make every effort to avoid a confrontation.

If I had been the driver in the truck, I see no reason to stop in a parking lot knowing the aggressor’s vehicle was near. Keep driving, exit the area.

Whatever the reason for the confrontation, the end result is one dead and the shooter will always know that his taking a life could have been avoided, again regardless of the reason.

Fight or flight == was fight reason enough for the loss of life.
Life ending errors were made by both parties.

  9. I’ve been driving the highways around DC and Baltimore for almost a half century. Over the last few years the insanity I see in other drivers has escalated exponentially. They take life ending risks at extreme speeds just to get in front of that next person in front of them, barely clearing the car they cut off while changing lanes and not looking. All for what? To get to work three seconds earlier?
I can only explain it as this new generation of drivers believe they are playing Mario Kart when they get behind the wheel.
Last summer SIX construction workers in Baltimore were killed by a numbskull who was racing against another numbskull who lost control and the car jumped over the beltway temporary jersey wall and crushed them like bugs.

I wear a defensive gun 7 days a week. Don’t fuck with me and I won’t shoot you. And I’ll sleep fine at night if I need to.

  11. Pay attention, trouble comes from all directions, be ready to floor it.
    Most of us aren’t bulletproof.
Someone gets out of their car mad I already have my truck in gear ready to go. See ya.
You don’t want to be on the evening news.

  12. If the loud dude with a gun was charging a policeman, this would’ve played out the same. No cop around, as usual means the citizen had to handle it. Either = Dead irate gunman.
Not knowing the events leading up to this confrontation does bother me.

  13. Why stop for a raging lunatic. If there is anyway to avoid a confrontation. DO IT!

If a confrontation is unavoidable, it’s justified to eliminate a deadly threat. Especially, in this case. Great call by the Indianapolis Police Department.

  14. It looked like the road rager had the gun in his right hand, but then switched the gun to his left hand before raising his right hand up to the window. The shooter couldn’t tell this, and assumed the gun was still in his right hand. I think it was justified, and agree with not charging him, but now he will probably face a wrongful death lawsuit.

  15. You bring a gun, Im going to assume you mean to kill me and act accordingly.

Corollary; dont draw a gun unless you are going to kill because other people will make that same assumption.

Under Ohio law, it couldnt end any other way. You draw and dont try to kill, they define that as not in fear for your life and therefore brandishing, and they WILL send you to prison for it.
