Baldwin Skates – IOTW Report

Baldwin Skates

lat-

The involuntary manslaughter case against “Rust” star Alec Baldwin was dismissed by a judge Friday after the actor’s defense attorneys raised new questions over how New Mexico law enforcement officers and prosecutors handled evidence.

Amid the scrutiny during the high-profile criminal trial, one of the state’s two special prosecutors — Erlinda O. Johnson — resigned from the case.

During the Santa Fe trial, the actor’s lawyers sought to shift focus away from whether he pulled his gun’s trigger in the accidental shooting that killed a cinematographer on the set of the movie “Rust” and onto another key question: Where did the lethal bullet come from?

  1. The “evidence” of the ammunition that was “suppressed” by the prosecution was totally immaterial to the case. Baldwin was being prosecuted for negligence in handling the firearm, period. The judge (appointed by Democrat governor Bill Richardson) was searching for some reason to dismiss. Her bias was evident during Witness testimony when she and the defense attorney were double-teaming . Baldwin gets away with murder because he is a member of “the club”.

  2. My opinion is that there shouldn’t have been a live round on the set. I’m pretty sure B didn’t bring the live round, nor loaded the weapon. What happenned before was not his fault. Nor responsibility.
That being said, If someone hands me a gun, my first rule is to check if its loaded or not. The armorer was clearly responsible for the catstrphe. B was innocent by ignorance.
Trust me, I have no legience to the Baldwins, but just my honest opinion.

  3. I’ve never been handed a firearm that I didn’t then check, doublecheck visually and either rack the slide, open and inspect the cylinder or work the bolt to insure it wouldn’t/couldn’t fire.

    They’re not toys.

  4. Alec is liberal…
    Alec skates….
    Imagine that.

Just look at the SHIT, WE/US are up against

If YOU have any sense of ‘common-sense’, don’t be surprised if/when the silent majority rises up to make all this shit right!

And, believe me, capital punishment will NOT be taken off the table. (It seems the only real thing these die-hard, commie, cock-suckers realize is BRUTE FORCE. Fight fire with fire.

  5. All Ukrainian family. Could this have been a hit on her and her husband for possible nefarious dealings?
    I guess we’ll never know.
Really suspicious how, on a set filled with hundreds of blanks for filming, ONE hot round found its way into that pistol.

There’s another possibility that’s been mentioned. The diseased woman and a bunch of the production crew were threatening to walk off the set due to, wait for it, UNSAFE FIREARM PRACTICES. We all know about Alec’s little bitch temper. At the time she was shot I’ve read the entire camera crew was suppose to be standing behind 1.5 inched of Plexiglass. Who knows but if you follow the testimony they had his ass dead to rights. He got rescued at the cost of justice.

  7. Way back there were rumors of live ammo being brought to the location for some ‘target practice’, but I haven’t heard anything like that lately. Maybe it was just a rumor.

  8. The USA has a the finest system of JustIce that money can buy. Yesterday Alex Baldwin had his case dismissed on Discovery, or the lack there of. I wonder what that cost him?

  9. I suppose I’m the lone voice that feels justice was served.
The armorer was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter since the “arms” on the movie set were her sole responsibility, NOT Alec’s.
He was just a dumbass actor.
As a producer he will likely be liable in a civil suit.
You guys are letting hatred cloud your judgement.

On that note, I still haven’t heard how live rounds were loaded into a prop gun?
Why were they using a gun with a firing pin on a movie set?

Not sure why he claimed to NOT pull the trigger?
You should be able to pull the trigger on a prop gun a thousand times without issue, since it was NEVER supposed to contain fire-able live rounds.

  10. @Loco — No, you’re not alone. I believe justice was served, but in a way different from your way. The prosecutors did a really bad thing by hiding exculpatory evidence from the defense. That’s utterly inexcusable and the judge, when finding out about it, immediately stopped the trial, and dismissed Baldwin’s charges with prejudice. This was the Right Thing to Do.

Interesting you bring up the question of where the live ammo came from. That’s the nature of the exculpatory evidence, I’ve read. I won’t get into the details here but the belief is that the hot loads came from revolver supplier and not from the movie’s armorer’s stocks. And so SHE may have her conviction tossed for the same reason ad Baldwin’s.

  11. “Why were they using a gun with a firing pin on a movie set?”….because you need a firing pin to fire blanks…

“Not sure why he claimed to NOT pull the trigger?
You should be able to pull the trigger on a prop gun a thousand times without issue, since it was NEVER supposed to contain fire-able live rounds”….There’s too much wrong with that whole statement to justify an argument…

What if the armorer did’t know about the live rounds being on the set just like Alec? She will appeal her conviction….Who brought the live rounds too the set? The prcsecussion didn’t believe the live rounds were relevant and therefore didn’t tell the defense about them. Why?….The trial was fixed from the beginning and Alec got the results that he paid for….It’s lawfare…Now, all we can do is hope that he’s civilly bankrupted by that lawsuit….

  12. “The prosecution didn’t believe the live rounds were relevant”
    WHAT???
How the hell could they not be THE MOST RELEVANT PART OF THE WHOLE DAMN CASE?

    The family will get paid.
Putting Alec in jail is like putting Trump in jail at this point.
    Nonsensical.

  13. “The prosecution didn’t believe the live rounds were relevant”
WHAT???…..EXACTLY!….They gave the defense a loophole to jump through on purpose…

The OJ? Baldwin comparison is relevant because both of the ladies are blond, dead and their killer’s were let go after a shiity, corrupt trial…Please try to stay away from discussing guns. Your knowledge is just fucking ignorance on display…

  14. “Tell me Willys, are guns on movie sets SUPPOSED to be loaded with LIVE rounds & the ABILITY to FIRE those rounds?”….supposed to be loaded with live rounds? OBVIOUSLY NOT!…..ability to fire those round? ABSOLUTELY!…

What we have here is a failure to communicate. Ya see, a gun needs to have a firing pin to fire a blank which would then make that gun able to fire a live round…..A gun without a firing pin would have everybody on the movie set running around and yelling PEW PEW PEW AT EACH OTHER….LOLOLOLOL…

  15. I said..”The OJ? Baldwin comparison is relevant because both of the ladies are blond, dead and their killer’s were let go after a shiity corrupt trial”….I never discussed a weapon. Does it matter? Manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter or muder….dead is dead and those ladies killer’s escaped jail time….I’m done…

“If you believe ALL guns are used on a set to fire “blanks” you are ill informed.
Many props don’t even have a chamber to load.”

WRONG ON ALL COUNTS PEW PEW PEW PEW…..

” I believe justice was served,” I’m not sure how you can say that when the case was never heard. If the prosecution was at fault then dismiss the case and start over. But with prejudiced? There’s still a little boy with out his mom and a husband missing his wife. Who’s responsible for that? This was set up. And I’m fairly sure the prosecution was part of it.
