  2. Will be fun to watch them play with full face medical masks and make tagouts while maintaining social distancing! Will black players get 10 strikes and a six foot head-start on any hit ball, and can a white player get a black player out or will he be thrown out of game for racist actions? Sports fans want to know!

  3. I’m just watching long enough to see grown men faint from wearing masks, their frustration at not being able to manhandle their own balls, not slapping each others’ asses, and not being able to spit sunflower seeds or tobacco through their masks.

I wonder if the 3rd base coach is going to make the runners stop to disinfect their hands.

Ohhh sorry dude, your home run did not count because you did not disinfect on 3rd AND you didn’t put the bat back in the Barbicide container before you ran off.

  4. No more crackerjacks or National Anthem (just waitin for it…this land is your land/my land shit ain’t gonna make it) and besides it’s all for tv revenue anyway.

  5. I’m glad to see baseball back – even in a bastardized form. I have not followed any baseball, and even forgot the Angels signed Rendon giving them maybe the best 1 – 2 outfield punch in baseball (sorry Dodger fans).

Baseball needed some sort of season this year in order to remain relevant vis a vis’ football and basketball, and I’m surprised that the players and owners were too short-sighted during negotiations to see this. I believe a 60 game schedule is great – every game will mean something and teams can’t mail in a few games during the season. However, baseball is a terrible television game – without an opportunity to go to the ballpark even occasionally, I think interest will wane. Even if teams start allowing fans at some venues, the stadiums may resemble a Marlins regular season game.

As a final thought, I hope MLB keeps politics out of the game as much as possible. For the average fan, sports is an escape and we don’t want to be lectured by the woke crowd. This COVID-19 situation has already been damaging to a sport that has been losing fans for a number of years, and some of us just want to watch and follow baseball without having to be reminded of the lock downs, face masks, blm, antifa, and cries of systemic racism that dominate our current “entertainment/news” programming.

  6. Meanwhile Taiwan had it’s first game April 11th. It featured a bench clearing brawl.

BLM fans will be pleased to note that the Rakuten Monkeys are in first place with Chinatrust Brothers 7 games back.

Japan to play 72 games in it’s N.P.B. league.

    No one is allowing fans.

I agree that watching baseball in an empty stadium is boring. That’s why I recommend listening to the games on the radio.
