A 13 year-old Bronx middle school student challenged old Mr. Cohen to a dance off in order to humiliate him in front of his students and peers.
He shouldn’t have done that. Old Mr. Cohen had a few tricks up his sleeve.
In the end the 13 year-old really didn’t know what to do. After round one he tried the old “dusting off the teacher’s shoes” move to tell the crowd he was “dirty.” But the crowd was turning on the 13 year-old, and in the end they probably have a great new respect for the teacher.
The biggest deal when I was in school was when a quiet janitor surprised everyone by playing Ralph Kramden in a school pageant, and he crushed it.
I’m sorry, I’m just not appreciative of the art form, or if this is even dance.
Maybe it is, but I also don’t consider “rap” as actual music, so maybe I’m just not the intended audience.
Anon : The movement he’s doing is totally unnatural, and hard as hell to do dancing or not !
I’m pretty sure anyone that can do what he did can do the Fox Trot.
Uhm…. I avoid moves that look gay. Sorry.
I can hook you up to
one of my power supplies
in my lab and you WILL dance
like that…
It all depends on what you’re looking for. Those moves are great if you want teenage applause, but slow dancing to ’50s doo-wop with a partner of the opposite sex always worked better for what I had in mind.

A clear case of white privilege in action.
So, old and savvy wins against young and stupid … who would a thunk it ?
I give the kid credit for having balls and then the humility to acknowledge superior talent (comes from experience !)
That was fun, but I do agree with Barky Obuttwinkle that the moves look kinda gay. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Me likey. What I’d give to be that limber again, instead of throwing a hip out of socket getting out of bed.
if you ever see me move like that, get me to the hospital stat.
“BEAS, BEASSSSSSS”
I wonder if the guy dresses that way everyday or just on dance off days. If this is what goes on in the schools, is it any wonder the kids can’t read or write?
Thousands of years of evolution and they still dance around a fire and chant…….
That was entertaining.
My Grandma use to call that St. Vitas dance.
We just laughed.
Yes, but can he dance? Ever hear of Fred Astair?
