“Beardos” to be Drummed Out of the Armed Forces

In a speech Tuesday morning before an auditorium packed with several hundred of the nation’s most seasoned military commanders, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called for an end to “woke” culture in the military and railed against a litany of complaints such as diversity and probes into hazing.

“The era of politically correct, overly sensitive, don’t-hurt-anyone’s-feelings leadership ends right now,” Hegseth said at the gathering at a Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia — a secure site an hour south of the nation’s capital.

Hegseth called for “no more division, distraction or gender delusions” in an extraordinarily blunt speech on the importance of the “warrior ethos,” a term he uses to describe the spirit that makes combat units effective. More

  1. There were a lot of puckered assholes in that room. President Trump noted that when he said “it’s very quiet in here, I’ve never been in a gathering where it was so quiet…” HaHa, he owns them!

  2. I feel sorry for the young guy, fresh out of high school or early college, who for whatever reason, either family tradition or a genuine sense of duty, enlists in the military, finds the lifestyle of camaraderie, regiment and discipline attractive and decides to make it a career. 4 years a Democrat becomes president, said Democrat changes everything back to when Biden was running things, and instead or meritocracy, hard work and initiative being valued, he finds himself being mired in DEI lectures, forced to renounce his “whiteness” and gets routinely passed over for promotion by an affirmative action hire.

The military should not be a social laboratory, too bad it is treated as such.

  3. Chicks with dicks (and vice versa) be put on notice. You are sick in the head and not conducive to a civilized society, and definitely not conducive to a strong focused military. I despise the the trans anti-America movement I hope you all rot in hell.

  5. @SNS – “…is it just my imagination, or does the President seem to be whipping the military into fighting shape like he intends to USE it, and soon…”

I doubt that it is soon, but the message has to be communicated to our enemies: Be put on notice, FAFO!!

  6. The only thing that should differentiate military members from each other — besides women and men — should be the merit of rank. Anything else interferes with esprit de corp and the mission.

And stop giving promotion of rank within months of retirement, just to bump someone’s retirement pay and perks. If the guy or gal wasn’t performing well enough to be promoted before retirement, they shouldn’t be promoted on the eve of retirement.

And bring back the “fat boy” program for ALL service members, starting at the top.

  8. i want them to put special emphasis on the assholes running their mouths on social media while in uniform. It’s helpful that they’re stupid enough to out themselves, but they need to be removed, as well, and that damn quick…

  9. We had a Jordanian recruit in my first recruit company 316 in Navy boot camp in the fall of 1972 who was one of the hairiest guys that I ever met. He was so hairy that he had to shave twice a day in order to meet the rigid regulations for being clean shaven. During my time in the Navy in the early 70’s Admiral Elmo Zumwalt the Chief of Naval Operations at that time allowed sailors to grow beards and mustaches as long as they were neatly trimmed. Many of us in my fighter squadron had beards and mustaches including myself. However, that all changed at the end of June in 1976 when orders were given once again that all sailors could no longer grow beards, but neatly trimmed mustaches were still allowed. A lot of fighter pilots had mustaches. The Army and the Marines hated us when we had had beards whenever we were around them.

  10. Rich Taylor – that’s just the thing isn’t it? Military service now (other than dying or being maimed for Raytheon, General Dynamics and Israel) would be ok for young people. Merit and standards and pride of service. But when the Demsheviks take over again it will be back to rainbows and leather dog masks. Best for young people to get into a skilled trade instead. Regardless of the “warrior ethos” the fact is we are not at all equipped to fight the Russians. They have many hypersonic missiles and we have none. The US military is tailored to fight brown people in the desert, not a peer competitor who is currently learning fast how to fight modern war. If the Soviets and decided to invade Europe in 1983 it would have been an even contest. Now in war with Russia many young Americans would die, and for what? WTF is President Trump thinking to give Tomahawks to Ukraine? I am very disappointed in him in this regard.

Geoff – I joined the Navy in 1978 and was able to have a beard until Sec Nav banned them in 1985. My wife had never seen me without a beard before then. Of course as a submarine sailor I was able to grow one on every SSBN patrol I made until I retired in 2003. Two days before beginning terminal leave I tossed my razor.

One other comment – get rid of women wearing men’s uniform items! Women in the Navy used to have head gear that were distinctive and had been in use since at least the 1940’s. Now they wear the same exact covers as men. WTF? And can they please get rid of khaki shirts for E6 and below? There is way too much leveling going on in uniforms. (Rant off)

  11. I always thought that putting saltpeter in chow was a myth when I was in the Navy, now I don’t know if it was a myth or not. We would buy saltpeter over the counter at our local Rexall drug store with no questions asked when I was in my teens and mix it with sulphur to make smoke bombs.

  12. Regarding tats. I was a recruiter from 99 to 01. At that time there prohibitions on enlisting anyone with tattoos on neck or face or hands. They had to be able to be covered with long sleeves. Don’t know the current “standards” if there are any.
