California Globe-
The legal battle over California and other states having their own auto emissions standards dates back to 2019. Then-president Donald Trump had, after several years of trying to cajole California to follow federal standards, revoked the rule that year through the EPA, attempting to make uniform emissions standards across all states. California, along with 22 other states and the District of Columbia, immediately sued the federal government in return. When a judge refused the Trump administrations efforts to throw the case out, lines quickly formed over the lawsuit.
Toyota, GM, Fiat Chrysler, and other quickly sided with the federal government over the uniform standards due to concerns that it could lead to making different cars for different parts of the country. Others, such as Ford, Honda, and Volkswagen, came into private agreements with the state and backed the differing standards model.
Maybe we should take Air Force one, Marine one and the Beast away from Biden. After all, if he believes in global warming, he should want to do his part. Let the tard walk.
The US Constitution. Deal with it. The 10th amendment: “the Tenth Amendment (1791) was included in the Bill of Rights to further define the balance of power between the federal government and the states. The amendment states that the federal government has only those powers specifically granted by the Constitution.”
No, you leftists, and any politician, cannot force your will on the people. I will stand up, I will protect myself, my family, and others. Try me! No, that is not a threat, that is just a promise.
This is the greatest country on the Earth because we do have rules, and we expect people to follow them.
I can’t wait for “Cash for Clunkers” 2022
And while they’re at it please ban DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) in all new diesel powered vehicles and large trucks. The shit is totally worthless and a big hassle every time you have to fill the DEF tank before the vehicle powers down to nothing when it runs out of DEF.
geoff: I feel your pain.
The implication of having a stand-alone CA standard is all the me-too greenies in Washington passed a law requiring all used cars sold in Wa-Wa to be CA (Ca-Ca?) Emmissions compliant. Narrows our pool of vehicles resulting in…wait for it…higher prices.
With all the crap California puts on its people and businesses, I don’t see how it continues to operate as a functional State.
Trump’s greatest strength was deregulation but too many fools didn’t realize it’s impact for the better on their lives.
Too many damn fools!
Don’t tell California what to do or they’ll sue. California will now tell the nation what to do through Biden.
…waiting for these a-holes to regulate “magnetic emissions” by electric cars wunna these days….
TRF – Where do all those batteries go after the electric vehicle dies?
Then where do 10x hose batteries go over time?
Then 100x?
Sung to the tune of Where Have All The Flowers Gone, Where have all the dead batteries gone, gone to pollute landfills everywhere for many a generation yet to come…..
Mr. Anth Ropy – Well what gets me is where do these geniuses think we are going to get all that power to recharge everybody’s electric car (and a chicken in every pot)? To do that we should be bolstering the grid, but instead these morons are busy dismantling our nuclear, coal, gas and even hydro plants! I do not think there can be more clear evidence that they are trying to dismantle and disable America with programs that throw money to the four winds and cripple our infrastructure!
Mr. Anth Ropy – Batteries can be recycled. Lead Acid batteries are about 98% recyclable and the process is established. Lithium, not so much. From what I can tell, about 80% mayt be recycled, but the process is still being developed and is not really ready for prime time. In the mean time they wind up in land fills as an ugly time bomb.
