This incident marks the 11th known incident of Commander biting White House or Secret Service personnel.

Dogs reflect their people’s personalities when their people raise them. Professionally trained dogs don’t, but they reflect the demeanor and behavior of the trainer. If the dog is well trained by a professional then released to an insouciant or weak person the dog will literally be adrift, wanting to do as trained but not receiving the proper signals. Shepherds are perimeter patrolling order keeping protectors of their people at heart. Lovely beings.
In a hostile and active environment without adequate direction the poor dog can’t do his job, I can imagine he would key on the most hostile and threatening beings around which would be either the gunmen (professional thugs) or maybe some middle eastern prince or something.

I was forced to put down a German Shepard after it ripped our cat to pieces in our back yard and then threatened to attack my wife. I hated to do it, but I didn’t want to come home one day and find my wife mauled to death. A .22 LR to the nape of the neck is the humane way.
My daughter does far better with a German Shepherd that was abandoned by its first owner and lost a forelimb because it was hit by a car late at night. This thing is gentle as a lamb
