Western Journal: A Florida mother was hauled off to jail this week in a dispute over draconian COVID restrictions, refusing to leave her daughter’s hospital bedside following surgery. She says she has no regrets.
WJAX-TV reported that Lynn Savage, a 70-year-old great-grandmother, was arrested this week after she couldn’t conceive leaving the side of her daughter, who had just had a major operation at a Jacksonville hospital. Savage was visiting her daughter Amber, who had just suffered a stroke.
Savage was at Amber’s bedside at UF Health North when she was informed that visiting hours were over.
She explained that a doctor had actually asked her to come to her daughter’s side, as she needed her support in the post-surgery ICU. Her presence calmed her daughter, she said.
Savage was actually there for both her daughter and doctors, to calm the latter and to act as an interpreter, as her daughter was not able to speak, according to WJAX. But when the hospital’s COVID visiting hours ended, the hospital asked her to leave.
“The nurse said that the visiting hours were over at seven and I had to leave and I said I’m not going to leave. I want to stay here with my daughter. Can you call the doctor because the doctor is the one that wanted me here with her?” she told WJAX. “And she said no that they couldn’t do that that COVID rules said that visiting hours were over at seven.” MORE
So an arbitrary curfew is going to save the planet from covid – or at least this one patient. The left are insanely evil!!!
Nurse must be afraid of losing her job, you need to get the message to the upper level any way you have to.
I’m hoping all the perpetrators of this evil crap, die in writhing agony, and no one comes to their aid.
Nurses aren’t all the saints they are made out to be. (experience)
Deplorable 2nd Class,
You are being too kind. I have met nurses that are horrible. They don’t care about their patients, only their power.
Thankfully they are few and far between, but they do exist, and this nurse sounds just like what I have described.
She does NOT deserve the title of nurse, and I hope her superiors have learned that.
When I was staying with my dying husband all but one of the nurses was more than happy I was there, as it freed them up to a great extent. One nurse was nasty, but I tried to ignore her.
When my late wife was in the hospital, and a nurse came to check on her in the early morning hours, discovering that she was awake, she gave my wife a hug and talked to her for a few minutes. GREAT NURSE.
Th nurse is not the one who took her out in cuffs.
I’m in remission from 3 different cancers and I’m terrified of relapse. Not of the disease, of having to interact with the system again.
I thought masks worked?

Thank you for your service.
2 years ago when I had life saving surgery. My wife and daughter spent the night in my room with me. Very comforting and I am grateful they were there.
@Anon Trooper
I am glad to hear that you are in remission and I understand terrified of the system.
If you were in Canada, with HALLWAY medicine before Covid-1984, by now you would have been in the Coroner’s System by now.
It’s quicker now that our hospitals are empty. My mom needs a Catscan & the usual wait is 3 months. Now the wait is down to 3 weeks! she goes in about 2 weeks now.
Take care of you self friend.
