Bill to loot pensions for pols revived in Illinois legislature

AT:

Sometimes the shameless venality of public officials in Illinois is blatant that it is almost amusing. Currently, the state legislature is considering overriding the veto of outgoing Republican Bruce Rauner of a bill that would in effect loot the pension fund for firefighters to increase the take of politicians. Keep in mind that “As of fiscal year 2017, Chicago’s fire pension fund had less than 21 cents on hand for every dollar owed in benefits,” according to the Illinois Policy Institute.  The details are:

House Bill 5342, a proposal sponsored by state Rep. Robert Martwick, D-Chicago, that would provide an exclusive pension boost to Chicago aldermen who formerly worked for the Chicago Fire Department. The bill would amend the Illinois Pension Code by redefining “active fireman” under the Chicago Firefighter Article to include former firemen currently serving on the Chicago City Council.  MORE HERE

  1. You look at Chicago and you wonder at what point will the corruption by every single Alderman, Mayor, City Manager and all the union officials becomes too much for patriots who live in the city and the executions begin. I wonder how many it would take before the city descends into “Escape from New York”.

  2. The corruption and political payoffs aren’t just in Chicago, But Chicago is the controlling power base of the democrat party.

The Democrats control the House, Senate, soon to be Governor, two US Senators and the majority of US Congressmen..
The corrupt financial carnage and insider deals will hit hyper speed as it did under Blagojevich.

Pensioners and taxpayers alike will pay the price.
