American Thinker- The political battle lines have been drawn over Virginia governor Ralph Northam’s declaration of an emergency kill zone on the Capitol grounds for Lobby Day, Jan. 20. As of Friday night, after a Virginia district court rejected a legal challenge to the governor’s gun ban, the ban appears to be in place, unless a last-ditch appeal to the Virginia Supreme Court can succeed in overturning the ban this weekend.
As it stands, an area bounded by 9th, Broad, Bank, and Governor streets around the Richmond Capitol has been declared an emergency gun-free zone. One section of the appeal to the Supreme Court argues:
These events merely underscore the Petitioners[‘] concern raised at oral argument before the trial court, that people who choose to show up armed to Lobby Day — and there will be many who seek to — will be forced by this EO into the unprotected chaos of the surrounding streets, rather than the “shelter” of the Capitol grounds. The EO’s ban on firearms on the grounds for this permitted event has increased the risk of problems despite the purported justification of “avoiding another Charlottesville.”
Philip Van Cleave, president of the VCDL, discussed the logistics of the rally on the Cam Edwards YouTube channel on Thursday:
… 9th Street is right there, that’s the street that touches the Capitol square … 9th street will be blocked off so that people can stand there and they will be able to hear the speakers[.] … If you are on that street, you can carry[.]
Capitol police expect to funnel as many as 10,000 people through magnetometers into the outdoor gun-free kill zone that will be contained by fencing around the Capitol grounds. So purely hypothetically here, just spitballing mind you…
You’ll have a big, fenced in gun-free area.
Outside that area, people can and will carry.
Here’s the hypothetical part…all it would take is one plant, a crisis actor with pre scrubbed background, to open fire outside of the gun-free cage, into it, or both. He then melts away into the crowd and disappears, if he’s not apprehended by the others around him.
Bit even if he were caught, he’s all the media will need to prove the governor’s point. As far as the media would be concerned, there will be no way to prove he was a plant. He’ll be made to fit their usual mass shooter right wing insta-profile.
Purely hypothetical, but is that too far out?
Plain and simple: A guy with GUNS is telling everyone they can’t have GUNS, while he and his cronies (protected by those guns) pass laws to make it illegal for anyone to have GUNS except him and his cronies.

He is contravening the Constitution of the United States, and probably Virginia’s as well.
By nullifying the 2nd of the Bill of Rights(?) he is declaring war on the United States, Virginia, and the citizens thereof. If the Constitution is a nullity, then his “right” to govern is, also, a nullity – for his “mandate” to dictate to Virginia is founded upon those Constitutions.

Gun Free Kill Zone.

This was possibly the intent from the beginning.
To somewhat counter that, the unarmed people inside the cage have one or two friends/relatives or other outside the cage to watch over them while inside.

Stay away from the whole area. Clearly, they crafted a situation in which chaos and violence are inevitable, and have inadequate law enforcement and security available. I am not talking about Coonman’s Cage, but about the surrounding area. The camera angles have been set up and the actors rehearsed to play out their scenes. Media have already written the stories and put their “experts” on standby.
Imagine the howling of the Fake Newsers if such a slaughter yard were set up to corral “illegal immigrants”, i.e. non-citizens?!
But for American citizens, whom the Constitution provides the Rights of Free Speech and to Bear Arms, they see no problem.
