Breitbart- Hooters is reportedly in talks to file for bankruptcy in the coming months. This comes after the company shuttered several of its locations last year, following a decline in patrons.
Hooters of America is working with the Ropes & Gray law firm to prepare for a bankruptcy filing as the business addresses its debt and liquidity, people with knowledge of the situation told Bloomberg.
The company is seeking to restructure Hooters through bankruptcy court, the sources said, adding that the restaurant’s bankruptcy plans are not yet final, but that if they proceed, the process will begin in the next two months.
The move comes after Hooters has experienced a decline in patrons. In 2021, the restaurant also sold around $300 million in asset-backed bonds, Bloomberg reported. more here

Probably most of them that closed was due to driving customers away. Customers just didn’t want to see waitresses with men’s ass cheeks sticking out from under those shorty shorts.

Back in the mid-80s, the wife (then girlfriend) took me to The Playboy Club in Universal City (LA). It was a fun night, with pretty waitresses dressed as bunnies, OK (overpriced) food, and a comedy show afterward in the back stage. But I left saying,”I’m glad I went, but I will never go back, the novelty is over”. Without repeat customers, you are doomed.
I do have a suggestion, keep the name but repackage the menu, owl (preferably spotted) cooked made to order. And ditch the skimpy outfits, most aren’t that attractive anyway.

Really classy shithole. The only time I was even in one was for telephone work.
There was another shithole in DC called GoodGuys. A reeking shithole with naked dancing women. It was repulsive.
I guess Gen Z zoomers aren’t interested in real women and would rather stay home (at mom’s) and cruise OnlyFans on their iPads. I wonder how the strip clubs are doing; I used to go to one nearby once or twice a year, but they put a $5 cover at the door and I haven’t been back since.
