Sultan Knish – Over 7,000 of the country’s coronavirus deaths emerged out of nursing homes.
Of the 4,377 coronavirus deaths in New Jersey, over 1,700 died due to infections in nursing homes. That nearly 40% of coronavirus deaths in one of the hardest hit states took place in nursing homes casts a stark light on the misplaced priorities of blue states battling the pandemic by locking down houses of worship and small businesses, while putting few to no resources into protecting nursing home residents.
New Jersey’s coronavirus deaths were part of the coronavirus outbreak in 425 nursing homes. At one nursing home, after an anonymous tip, police found 17 bodies being stored in a shed.
Nearly 7,000 nursing home residents in the state have tested positive for coronavirus.
In neighboring New York, nearly 1 in 4 coronavirus deaths emerged from nursing homes. Those 3,060 deaths are only part of the story and represent an extremely incomplete picture. The Health Department had battled against releasing the information, claiming that it was protecting the privacy of residents. Even when the people pleading for the release of the information were their own loved ones.
In one facility, 17% of the residents have died. In 5 others, more than 10% are dead.
And even now, only data from a fraction of nursing homes in the state has been made public. [snip]
The Cuomo administration is blaming nursing homes. And while nursing homes often provide poor care and personnel often work in different facilities at the same time spreading the infection between them, it was the state that ordered facilities to accept coronavirus patients returning from the hospital.
Governor Cuomo’s Department of Health had issued an order that, “no resident shall be denied re-admission or admission to the NH solely based on a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of COVID-19” and also prohibited requiring testing of returning patients. Sending hospitalized patients with coronavirus to the same mismanaged nursing homes was a death sentence for countless seniors in those facilities.

I’m absolutely at my limit with this story. The bolding is mine. Cuomo is guilty of murder. Sounds dramatic? You bet it is. Just two weeks ago I memorialized my mom’s one-year anniversary when she went to Heaven. Her passing was beautiful as we were there to be with her and share our love with her. I can’t imagine the sorrow that the loved ones who died because of Coumo and other Democrats that don’t care if the elderly die. They truly have blood on their hands.

Nursing homes in ONTARIO & QUEBEC are getting decimated while the Governments were busy brow beating the general public and small mom & pop business.
They allowed part time workers to go from one care home to another pulling part time shifts even though the facilities were all owned by the same companies.
5 hour at #1 facility and 5 hours at #2 should have been = Pull 10 hours at 1 center and stay there.
No common sense at all. The premiers (govenors) are just as stupid as The Turdeau. I saw this coming 2 months ago.

I GUARANTEE the patients are getting abused and neglected with the families not there to WATCH them.

…most nursing homes are poorly administrated and hire from the low end of the health care pool. Elderly people are frustrating and difficult to deal with. Neglect is more common, but unstable employees do sometimes abuse, even rape, their charges.
This doesn’t exonerate Democrats, it makes them DOUBLY culpable.
For making their lives a living HELL before murdering them.
…and I’ve yet to see a valid legal justification for controlling when free adults get to visit other free adults.

Both my parents are in a rural upstate NY nursing home just minutes from me. The home has been wonderful on keeping families up to date. Currently there are no infections among staff or residents, and no deaths. The home keeps us in contact with Facetime. My 94 yr. old mom is still sharp as a tack & calls me every day. If there was something going on, she’d tell me about it. I wish every nursing home resident was as lucky and well-cared for. If they were in a metro area nursing home, it would be a different story.
