Komo News-

In the wake of recent shootings that have left several officers dead in Dallas, Texas, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a Maple Valley man has come up with a simple way to show support for officers here at home.

The idea started with a a strip of blue tape.

Andy Audette just had to show his support for those in uniform.

“What could we do immediately, that’s cheap, that everybody can participate in without having to meet up somewhere. And I thought ‘Everybody has blue tape.’”

Soon after he put a strip of blue tape on his truck’s back window and posted a photo of it to a community Facebook page on Sunday afternoon, the idea spread quickly.

  1. good idea
yesterday She Who Must Be Obeyed went down to the local Dunkin Donuts & bought a couple dozen donuts & a couple dozen bagels & delivered them to our local Sheriff’s Office

…. tomorrow I’m doing the same for our State Police

  2. I will put blue painters’ tape on my car when finished catching up on the news.

I also plan to offer some black painters’ tape to one of my lefty neighbors.

Hmmm, I may well offer the black roll to one of my conservative neighbors, because he would put black tape on several vehicles.
    (Perhaps too many!)

I am too nice to make a statement for someone else, but I like to facilitate honest communication.

  3. I have blue trim on my house just that shade. I didn’t intend for i to be that brilliant blue because the sample looked more subdued. Shocking when it didn’t loose the eyeball grabbing shade, but now I like it!

Will have to stop to buy the blue tape tomorrow on my way home from work. Maybe I’ll look for a blue ribbon to hang from the rear view mirror.

  4. Plot twist:

Guy puts blue tape across top of front and rear car windows to show support for police.

Gets traffic ticket for intentionally impeding driver’s view.

    😛
