Bolton may lose his security clearance

RCP: In the late summer of 2018,  just a few months into John Bolton’s national security adviser tenure, he strongly defended President Trump’s decision to revoke the security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan, the pugnacious anti-Trump critic the president has called a “leaker,” “a liar” and ringleader of the debunked Russian collusion investigation.

At the time, Bolton accused Brennan of “politicizing intelligence,” both during the Obama administration and afterward, which he deemed a “very dangerous thing to do.”

“If there is any kind of misconduct, I think there are lots of grounds to have your security clearance revoked for behavior that calls into question your ability to hold the material in confidence,” Bolton told ABC News’ Martha Raddatz. “…For me, the issue is whether he abused information that he attained while he was director of the CIA or he may have attained erroneously or incorrectly after he left.”

  1. I have always questioned the continuation of a security clearance for those that leave government service. I can understand a need to draw on the experience of some people that have moved on from active participation in National affairs but why they need an active full security clearance is beyond me.

  2. FTA: The Justice Department, under Attorney General Robert Barr’s leadership, may decide to use Bolton’s book as another opportunity to flex its muscles and enforce a strict application of the pre-publication review process rules”.

Pffffft. For all the threats, innuendo and tick-tocking bombs ready to ignite, Flabby McBarr is akin to a schoolyard bully v an MMA cage fighter.

Hildahag, Brennan, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page=6
    Huber, Durham, Barr=0

Thus far, it appears McBarr isn’t even interested in taking anyone’s lunch money, much less indictments.

Ho hum, we’ve been progressively conditioned over the past 3.75 years to accept the outcome….bad guys=6, good guys=0. Forfeited, by design.

  3. If the Deep State tapeworms thought they were in any real danger, you’d see them moving to places difficult to extradite from, and you’d see the more vulnerable low level ones being Seth Riched.

  4. Unless he has a job that requires a security clearance it will go inactive upon the 2 year mark of leaving a position that required a clearance. Unless he does something to compromise the clearance which can put the status as inactive immediately.

  5. The Deep Staters will help him keep his SC if the seed of the next shampeachment is in his book. Which I think it is. We aren’t done with Bolton and Dem scandalfoggery. I still want to know what was going down in Doha.

  7. Once a spook, always a spook.
They retain their security clearances after they leave gov’t “service” because they are still on-call to do the dirty-dick shit the gov’t wants done – or to control their activities.
Gary Powers was still being paid by the CIA at the time of his death (suspicious enough, since he didn’t know the Clintons) even though it was unknown to him.
Similarly to mafia moles, moslem sleeper cells, and communist fellow-travelers in the State Dept, CIA, NSA, DIA, FBI, &c.

  8. In private industry, the day you leave their employment is the day you hand over any keys you may have and they delete your passwords and revoke your ability to log-in to their system remotely. In short, YOU NO LONGER WORK THERE AND YOU ARE NO LONGER ENITILED TO **ANY**ACCESS.

This should be the same for our Federal Gummint employees. ALL OF THEM, whether unelected unaccountable bureaucrats or elected politicians, up to and including former presidents. FUCK ‘EM.
