Loni Anderson, who played a struggling radio station’s empowered receptionist on the hit TV comedy “WKRP in Cincinnati,” died Sunday, just days before her 80th birthday.

Anderson died at a Los Angeles hospital following a “prolonged” illness, said her longtime publicist, Cheryl J. Kagan.

“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother,” Anderson’s family said in a statement. More

  1. She was nice. Sorry to see she’s gone. RIP Loni A.

In a sense I’m lucky I’m an old guy. My “hot babe” was Carole Lombard, especially in My Man Godfrey. Why lucky? I don’t have to go through the sadness of her passing away because she died in 1942, 7 years before I was born.

  2. Loni Anderson made WKRP a great show, as did the rest of the cast, for me however, Jan Smithers, AKA Baily Quarters was the real beauty in the show.
@ Afternoon Soap Cheryl Ladd Vs Farah man that’s a real toss up both super hot. Farah Fawcett was Hollywood’s last great sex symbol, no one has come even close since, Jacklyn Bisset was a real beauty too. Now, sadly, Hollywood is awash in tatted, fat ugly hoes with only a few reasonably attractive actresses, one of many reasons no-one goes to movies much anymore.

  3. Odin,
“As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly”

I have that episode saved somewhere and watch it from time to time.
Looks like this would be a good time.

  4. I always pronounced her first name as “lowny”. Wife said no, her name is pronounced “lawny”. By the rules of English pronunciation, I think it should have been pronounced “lowny”.

RIP dear Loni, however your name is pronounced.
