Brady Not Retiring – Returning to Tampa

reuters-

Seven-time Super Bowl winning quarterback Tom Brady abruptly ended a brief retirement on Sunday, saying he will return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 23rd season just six weeks after announcing he was hanging up his cleats.

Brady, who had established himself as arguably the greatest player in National Football League history, stunned the sporting world with an unexpected about face.

“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” said Brady on his official Twitter account.

  2. Facing retirement is not easy. I’ve enjoyed watching Brady’s rise to excellence. I am facing retirement myself but I enjoy the challenge of problem solving. I like working somewhat. I’m good at what I do.

Retirement is not easy when you have a fan base. My users love me.

  3. Reality:

His kids are already on their way & they don’t need him suddenly driving them to places.
Giselle has her own career and has staff.
He is too good to coach. Imagine trying to coach these fucking felons and not loosing his shit.
I totally understand. I’m 52 and still climb ladders & do the work myself.
Some people are not made for offices & sitting.

  4. Tom isn’t real popular around here in WNY. Bills probably won’t face him again unless the Bucs and Bills meet in the Super Bowl. Bills only won 3 games out of 36 against the old goat.

My 82 year old dad still runs our offices & makes sure EVERYONE PAYS. E V E R Y ONE!
Still Sharp as a Razor and a horny bastage! Thus NO SECRETARY!

He won’t take a paycheck So I gave him a Rolex 2 weeks ago.
Says he hates it, but it has not left his wrist yet.

  6. Some air must have escaped from all of his balls. So, the idea of not retiring was easier to grasp.

(Can’t get over the air pressure scandal, sorry.)

  7. I’m with you @Kcir. I love it when I solve problems that have been problems for years. Women who have struggled with manual labor efforts for years are brought to tears by pretty simple solutions.

Isn’t that what IT is supposed to do?

Not only does Gisele not want him drolling in his soap when he is 50 but no doubt every game she has visions of him getting Joe Theismann’ed.

From a fan standpoint, the league is better with him in but he is one hit away from permanent disability.

I just hope that the family is on board.

100% Agreed. Hope the family is behind him as well.
My son has been told that If I blow up my heart mountain biking this year, leave me there until I’m Good & Cold. I’m not doing the Hospital bed thing. Recall, I got 2 shots of Fister Vax & IDGAF

    Wild Bill,
I really wanted the Bills to DESTROY KC this year. You guys are Real hard Ass Fans. Very SOLID
(However Temp is Directly proportional to temp.) Its what I do for a living in HVAC. the lower the pressure of FREON the lower the Temp Output.

PS, Leafs Suck! and thanks for giving the Blue jays a place to play during COOF! Only Toronto team I support.

    Cheers all.

  10. I’m surprised that nobody has offered ego as a reason for him coming back for a 23rd season. Ego is a powerful driver, but sometimes it works against you.

  11. Brady seems to taking a page from the rolling Stoners and Elton John: every time they make a retirement announcement their farewell tours sell more tickets!

Yet on the same planet, C. Kapernick keeps announcing his unretirement to no avail. Oh well…

  12. It’s very difficult for some people to accept reality. And the reality is that they age, they lose that “edge” and they can’t perform at the level they used to be capable of. We see this phenomenon most clearly in athletes who refuse to bow out at the top of their game and insist on hanging around looking foolish trying to recapture the old days of younger glory.

  13. Bucs must have made a great offer.
    Besides, he loves the game.
Too bad the sports world has gone woke or we’d still watch.

P Henry, a friend and co worker of my husband retire a couple of yrs ago. He came out of retirement. It was supposed to be part time but he works more often. Hubby asked why. His friend said he liked what he did for work and when he retire realized he wasn’t finding anything to do he liked as well.
Now he’s going to keep working til he does find something to do he likes as well.
An eye opener for my husband as he was planning on retiring in 5 yrs.
