News Thud: According to a new report from DailyMail the broadway hit “Hamilton” is set to receive $30 million in federal aid with the possibility of getting another $20 million under the Shuttered Venue Operators Program.
This comes despite the show grossing $650 million since it debuted in 2015.
The report explains that before the pandemic, there were five productions of Hamilton throughout the country – the one on Broadway and four traveling productions.
Each of those shows were able to apply for $10 million under the aid program. more

I would rejoice if that amount of money were given to homeless animal shelters. Seriously, the thought of poor suffering homeless pets is heartbreaking and it is not their fault. The wife and I do what we can and someday the homeless shelters will get all we have left.
But for a Broadway Play? If it can’t make it on it’s own, screw it. It shouldn’t run and does not deserve a public bailout.
