As the COVID-19 virus continues its march across the United States, many government officials are struggling to figure how just how to deal with the spread of the deadly disease. For many, it’s essential to balance what may look like the public good and civil liberties. It’s not an easy tightrope to walk by any stretch of the imagination.
However, some lawmakers aren’t sweating the whole idea of civil liberties. They’re ready to go full jackboot at the drop of a hat, apparently.
California has prepared for worst case scenarios as the coronavirus pandemic heightens, including the possibility of enacting martial law.
Governor Gavin Newsom said during a press conference on Tuesday he would consider implementing martial law if it was necessary to curb the novel virus.
“We have the ability to do martial law … if we feel the necessity,” he said.
Now, martial law has been declared from time to time in the midst of a natural disaster. During that time, civil rule becomes replaced with military rule. That’s never a good thing, but it’s arguably necessary in the midst of something huge like the aftermath of a hurricane or tornados. Especially if there’s some degree of civil unrest in that aftermath, such as looting. more

Just heard on the radio this morning that the fear mongering to justify all this has been jacked up to: half the population (20 million) Californians may be infected if they don’t shut things down! I’m actually getting concerned about where this is all likely to end!
do the math…..10 deaths Statewide out of 40 million people….do you think Pelosi in Pants did this because 1 out of every 4 million people died from a new Flu strain? Hell no. They want the big prize in November. Millions upon Millions will lose their jobs, houses, cars and livelihood for generations….in San Diego, zero deaths, 105 infected and GET THIS, 13 IN THE HOSPITAL. And now 5 million folks are locked in their houses. I firmly believe that when there is MASS LOOTING due to Governments IGNORING the rule of law (tying the police’s hands behind their backs and ignoring crime against people and property) that the POLITICIANS who DID NOT uphold REAL LAWS the they should be sued personally!

I wonder how soon our idiot Governor Jay Inslee will follow Gov. Newsom’s lead in declaring martial law in Wash. state? Newsom is a panic monger in saying that half the population of Cal. will die because of the Corona virus. I don’t know what to think right now but it definitely looks we’re rapidly turning into a nation of pussies and weenies and wimps who are all scared of their own shadows and I don’t like it one damn bit.
