Cage Match #10 Yes versus The Zombies
Who’s on first? YES.
YES
The Zombies are great, but harmonies are pretty much non existent in their songs.
They’re not in the same genre let alone the same league (prog.rock v pop). But, I vote Yes.
Where do I click?
Where da ballots!
Yes.
It’s a trap, Harry!
No contest, I’m a yuge Yes fan. Saw them twice, once in the 70s once in the 90s. (I like The Zombies too.)
🧟♂️
Yes, does an excellent cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s song America.
I vote no for Yes. Due to their creating 18 videos for the same damn song. If you wish to watch all of them all I can say is “Leave It.”
We didn’t even put up the ballots. No need. Yes is in a class by themselves. They can only be put up against prior winners.
I served up the Zombiews for slaughter.
But for purists. —->
Yes. vote here
The Zombies – vote here
Looks like I’m in the minority here, but I don’t care. That song “Time of the Season” was iconic to me… and good harmony too!
I’m wit ya, Harry.
The Zombies – Because “She’s Not There”. That would be a perfect rousing song for Trump Vs. Kamala if it rolls out that way – not one thought in her empty head, which means she has one more thought than Sniffer Joe.
I love an underdog.
Say, I wonder who would be a good match up against the Mormon Tabernacle Choir? Perhaps these guys. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ_Y0mS6l4Q

I’m posting this link to represent Monteverdi choir to go up against the Mormons, but it’s on the apprentices. Still, quality abounds.

Harry
Ditto. Iconic song for a certain age group.
Dr Tar, that was a beautiful song, thanks. We need to hear more real joyous music like this more often.
The Zombies and other early sixties Brit rock groups learned well their craft. They probably spent a lot of time listening to US Rock going all the way back to the mid-1950’s.
The Zombies, Dave Clark Five, Herman’s Hermits, Rolling Stones, The Animals, the Beatles, and lots more. Amazing. Outside the US, no other country can match their output of damned good Rock and Roll.
The one I mentioned – She’s Not There – listen to the base they laid down – very impressive for 1964.
Zombies. I can’t listen to progressive rock long enough to properly evaluate the harmony, but I voted anyway.
