California Dem Rep. T.J. Cox Wrongly Claimed $1 Million Second Home As Primary Residence For Years, Skirting Taxes

Daily Wire

Since 2016, Rep. T.J. Cox (D-CA) has been claiming his second home in Maryland as his primary residents, in violation of federal tax law and Maryland law.

The Washington Free Beacon obtained documents showing that Cox claimed the second home was his primary residence when he sold it for $1.12 million in November 2019. By claiming it as his primary residence, he was able to “avoid a nearly $90,000 tax withholding levied on property sales made by nonresidents in Maryland,” the outlet reported. Cox reported that he made $80,000 to $200,000 in rental income from the second home between 2017 and 2019. more here

  1. Larryland is particularly strict on the ‘primary residence’ taxes … they hold your feet to the fire on the ‘more than 6 months residence’ clause

it’s easy to check where you receive your mail, where your bills go, & in this day & age, track your whereabouts from your phone, your tv, your security system, your car … GPS is built into them all & Larryland is happy to bilk bill you

… after all, you basically turned yourself in …. & you’ve been nailed, Cox-sucka

  2. As we’ve learned, the democrat party is a place for perverts, criminals, losers, and traitors.

Being elected as a democrat is – in the mind of every elected democrat – a license to steal.

  3. “Cox bought the Bethesda, Md., home for $1.05 million in 2016 as a place for his wife to live while studying at Johns Hopkins University.”
Hopkins is in Baltimore, which is over hour away from Bethesda. Why wouldn’t they buy a house in Baltimore? Oh, yeah…
