California Is Banning Plastic Shopping Bags

cbs news

Paper or plastic will no longer be a choice at grocery store checkout lines in California under a new law signed Sunday by Gov. Gavin Newsom that bans all plastic shopping bags.

California had already banned thin plastic shopping bags at supermarkets and other stores, but shoppers could purchase bags made with a thicker plastic that purportedly made them reusable and recyclable.

The new measure, approved by state legislators last month, bans all plastic shopping bags starting in 2026. Consumers who don’t bring their own bags will now simply be asked if they want a paper bag. More

  1. Cleveburg here – Didn’t work here either. Once people bring home the groceries, most people re-use them for a whole host of reasons! Paper bags can’t hold as much and often break and nobody washes re-usables.

Wrong. They can charge you a dime for a thin plastic bag. They is the stores. Most stores just give you the bags at no cost. So in other words either no ones paying attention to this bull shit or they’re all breaking the law.
As far as the new law goes, you need to understand, about once a day a pink haired Libtard puts a plastic bag over their head and can’t figure out how to get it off. Sometimes they expire right there in the parking lot with other pink haired libtards filming it.

  3. Machts Nichts to me But… what the faggots in Calikiddiepornia do seeps up through Whoregon to arrive here in SayWA, wash your handsington, limpwristed soy feeding incels and dykes… land of the single serving meal, cat litter and wine prominently displayed at the Whole Foods market nearest you.

We ditched paper bags for the environment here in soyville at the behest of our communist masters a while ago. Then the plastic that replaces the paper has to go, and the paper gets rehabilitated… slightly. Now we go back around that gnrarly buckra horn and help the soy cadre leftists suck themselves back into serenity… again. The loons are chasing their tails hard now… I hope they catch those tails and choke to death on them.

  4. What’s really ironical about this is on every side walk or walking trail, spaced about 1/4 mile apart, is a little green container with thin plastic bags and plastic gloves to pick up your dogs shit. I probably pass 20 of them on the way into work. That started about the same time as their first attempt at banning plastic bags.
